The Godfall (Kaleerus's Fall)

The modern era began on the day the skies burned. Known as the Godfall, it was heralded by the appearance of a new, blood-red star—the flagship of the Saiyan exiles. Fleeing a dead reality, this warrior race, the Crimson Fist, tore a hole into our universe.

The first to respond were the Aeons, the crystalline guardians of cosmic law. They attempted to unwrite the Saiyans' existence, but their reality-warping power was shattered by the raw, untamed force of Ki.

The Vanguard Pantheon then met the Saiyans in battle. The conflict was a massacre. The God of War was blasted into his component concept of 'conflict,' and other deities were incinerated by the Saiyan leader, Kaleerus. The universe learned a terrifying truth: the old powers were not invincible.

📜 The Kaleeran Accord

Before a full-scale cosmic war could erupt, the timeless Elder Gods intervened. They convened a parley in a realm of pure thought, where they revealed a fundamental truth: the Saiyans were now irrevocably bound to this reality's cycle of life and death. From this summit, the Kaleeran Accord was forged, establishing the new status quo on three core tenets:

  • The Law of Inevitability: The Saiyans are a permanent part of this universe. There is no going back.

  • The Right of Challenge: The Saiyans' nature is to seek challenge to grow stronger. They may travel the cosmos to issue duels but may not bring ruin to worlds unprovoked.

  • Divine Non-Interference: The gods will not act against the Saiyans, and Kaleerus will hold her "God of Destruction" power in reserve, acting only as a final check against universe-ending threats.

Factions of the New Age

The Accord created a new, tense political landscape.

  • The Crimson Fist: The unified Saiyan faction, granted the shattered world of Salas as their home. Their society is a brutal meritocracy led by the weary God of Destruction, Kaleerus, and her Triumvirate: the traditionalist Commander Kado, the innovator Archon Vokka, and the adventurous Mistress Zukini.

  • The Stellar Imperium of Sol: The vast magi-technical empire sees the Saiyans as an existential threat and secretly works to understand and weaponize Ki.

  • The Veridian Concordance: The spiritual union of worlds is deeply conflicted, viewing the Saiyans as both a cosmic plague and a potent expression of the Great Bloom.

  • The Syndicate of Mercane: The ruthless corporate conglomerate sees the Saiyans as the ultimate market opportunity, eagerly trading with and exploiting their power.

  • Player-Facing Organizations: Smaller groups offer purpose to adventurers, such as the scholarly Star-Wanderer's League and the professional mercenaries of the Aegis Compact.

🌌 The Age of Challenge: A Universe Redefined

The Godfall has fundamentally changed the cosmos.

  • The Power Vacuum: With gods dead and the Aeons gone, old evils are stirring, and new cults are rising, including the vengeful God-Slayers.

  • The "Ki" Revolution: The concept of Ki has overthrown traditional understandings of power. Mages, monks, and artificers desperately study this new force of "Self" that allows a mortal to rival a god.

  • An Adventurer's Paradise: The universe is more dangerous but filled with more opportunity. The demand for powerful heroes—those who can stand up to a rogue Saiyan or handle a threat the great powers ignore—has skyrocketed.

🎲 The Godfall System (Game Mechanics)

The game is built on a modified 5e chassis with two core principles to allow for deep customization:

  1. There are no Feats.

  2. To compensate, all 48 subclass archetypes are treated as spellcasters internally. Their "spells" are re-flavored as Techniques—special abilities that use spell slots as a universal resource for all classes, from Wizards to Fighters.

This system is defined by each class's Hit Die, Spellcasting Ability (e.g., CON for Saiyans, INT for Rogues), Spellcasting Type (Full, Half, Third, or Pact Magic), and Spell Preparation Type (Known or Prepared). This allows every archetype to have a unique and thematic progression of powerful new abilities as they level up.
