Y'gnoloth
Y'gnoloth
"..." (Y'gnoloth does not speak. It only emits the sound of static, dying light, and the whisper of gravitational waves.)
Title: The Star-Eater, The Hunger Without End, The Final Gravity
Alignment: Chaotic Evil
Portfolio: Hunger, Annihilation, Gravity, Cosmic Horror, The Void
Domain: The Midnight Maw (Layer of the Abyss)
Worshippers: Y'gnoloth has no true worshippers, only victims and terrified scavengers. Nihilistic cults known as "Void-Gulls" follow in its wake, picking over the cold, dead systems it leaves behind. Some deep-space cultures offer it sacrifices in a desperate attempt to appease it and alter its course.
Doctrine & Philosophy Y'gnoloth has no doctrine. It is a force of nature, a being of pure, instinctual hunger. It is the Abyss at its most honest, stripped of the pretensions of power, knowledge, or pleasure. Its "philosophy" is the simple, absolute truth of gravity: all matter and energy, given enough time, will eventually fall into a single, inescapable point. It does not hate life; it is simply indifferent to it, viewing stars, planets, and civilizations as motes of dust to be consumed.
Appearance & Manifestations Y'gnoloth has no physical body. Its true form is its Abyssal layer, the event horizon of a reality-consuming rift. When it wishes to manifest an avatar or communicate, it appears as a perfect sphere of absolute blackness that absorbs all light and sound, surrounded by a halo of gravitationally-lensed, screaming starlight. Its "voice" is the chilling sound of cosmic background radiation and the low, crushing thrum of immense gravitational forces.
Plots & Goals in the Age of Challenge The Star-Eater does not plot; it drifts. Its goals are as simple and as absolute as gravity itself.
The Slow Apocalypse: Y'gnoloth's primary "goal" is to continue its endless drift through the cosmos, its domain a mobile Abyssal rift that consumes everything in its path. Its course is unpredictable, making it one of the galaxy's most terrifying and unstoppable natural disasters.
The Angler's Lure: The immense gravitational and psychic forces around its maw can warp spacetime, creating strange energy readings and ghostly apparitions that can lure curious or unsuspecting ships closer to the event horizon. This is not a conscious trap, but a natural function of its horrifying existence.
The Energy Anomaly: The Star-Eater is drawn to immense concentrations of energy. It would view the Ki output of a Saiyan battle not as a conflict, but as a stellar flare, a sign of a particularly rich feeding ground. A being like Kaleerus, radiating God Ki, would be the most tempting "star" Y'gnoloth has ever sensed, a superluminous meal it would be instinctually drawn towards.
