Lethefang, the Memory-Eater
a fabled Large Shadow Dragon
“In the caverns where the River Lethe carves through oblivion’s stone, there sleeps a dragon who feeds not on flesh, but on remembrance.”
Born from the shadow cast by the first mortal lie, Lethefang is said to have clawed its way out of the Styx itself. Its wings are woven from the reflections of those who have forgotten their names, and its breath steals not life, but memory. Where it hunts, prayers unravel and oaths turn hollow.
In the Underworld, even shades whisper his name in terror, for he is both archivist and predator — a dragon whose hoard is composed of memories once precious to the living. It was Lethefang who devoured the recollections of the Titan Mnemos, ending an age of perfect remembrance. Since then, he has slept within the Caverns of the Forgotten Pulse, dreaming of all he has consumed.
His scales drink light. His eyes reflect only what you have lost. And his hunger is endless.
Letherion, the Pale Warden
When the ancient shadow dragon Lethefang must walk among mortals or veil his power, he assumes the guise of Letherion, a tall, silver-eyed man draped in shifting shadow. In this form, he serves as both emissary and warden of Lethean memory—an echo of the wyrm’s true self bound within mortal flesh. Those who meet his gaze often feel a fleeting sense of déjà vu, as if he remembers a part of them they have long forgotten.
