Curse of the Black Goat Mother
(My take – roleplay this stuff for XP!)
When your character picks up the Curse of the Black Mother feat, you start slowly turning into a Shibito (undead like thrall of the Black Goat Mother). Roleplay your symptoms as best you can—Franz might give you XP just for good immersion without prompting.
Final stage (Shibito): You're dead, undead, and fully under the Black Mother's control. This is basically game over for your character, but you can keep roleplaying it if you want (like a tragic zombie or something). Talk to the GM about what happens next—I don’t have set rules for that part.
Stage 1: Curse of the Black Mother
You cough up black fluid as your body tries to fight the thing inside you.
Your fluids (sweat, spit, etc.) sometimes turn black.
You’re still alive, but you feel tired and off.
Mechanics: +1 CON (your body protects the invader).
Stage 2: Gift of the Black Mother
Your eyes constantly weep black tears that won’t stop or wipe away.
Black ichor coats your skin and hardens like armor.
You’re starting to accept it.
Mechanics: +1 CON (total +2 now), +1 AC (ichor protection).
Stage 3: Shibito
You’re dead—a mindless undead husk.
You babble about “the Harvest” and attack innocent people on sight.
Sometimes, after you hit an innocent, you get a brief moment of sanity to realize what you’ve done—then you snap back to mindless.
Mechanics: You’re undead (immune to poison, disease, sleep, etc.). You serve the Black Mother now.
That’s the progression. Keep roleplaying the symptoms as they get worse—Franz likes that.
