Lockhart Town (Hidden pirate city)

It is not known when the city was founded, but it is clear that it has always been a pirate city. It is most likely that it was built at the time of the birth of the empire by some pirates living at that time, and was forgotten over the centuries. Until Captain Lockhart accidentally found it during an escape.Located deep within the Spear Rocks, Lockhart Town is a vast, clockwork-like cave city. Powered by steam and clockwork technology, the buildings are automatically activated when authorized. Due to the city's hidden location and strict regulations, only trusted individuals are allowed in. According to the unwritten law, once inside, one cannot leave - treason is punishable by death. The city is built into a vast cave system, and only those who know the right air currents can access it. The city is divided into nine major sections, each with its own function. The city was discovered by the late Captain Sirius Lockhart before his death. Most of the buildings in Lockhart Town are automated structures that are buried in the cave walls before use, waiting for activation, their location and the interior of the buildings are shown by the recesses carved into the cave walls and the doors covering them. When activated, they rise from the rock walls with the help of steam and gears, which may seem almost magical to an outside observer. In fact, the central hall of the buildings is hidden in the cave opening, when activated, the door opens mechanically and the outer walls of the building slide into place, creating the appearance as if the entire building had emerged from the cave. But in fact, most of them are in those openings that are covered by the door that closes them. and after activation, only the front of the buildings will protrude into place. This was solved in order to save energy, because buildings that are not in use do not consume energy and steam. these only start flowing into the buildings after activation. So at first glance, an unactivated part looks like a simple cave. The only exceptions are a few central buildings that require their active presence due to their purpose.such as the airship port and the mayor's office.

The districts of the city are as follows:

Central Hall – Lockhard's headquarters

The Central Hall This is the main area of Lockhard Town: a vast cavernous hall that serves as the logistics and administrative center. This is where the main road of every district runs in. The central square serves as a meeting place, and this is where new entrants arrive. It houses the multi-story mayor's office, the council chamber, the city guard, the prison, and the treasury. The hall also includes the airship port, which is also home to the inns. The port hall is residential, but it is mainly used as a temporary residence for travelers, guests, and delegates.

Northern Sector – Residential District Lockhard Town

The northern part is the residential district of Lockhard Town, with a variety of homes. There are smaller working-class apartments, middle-class houses, but also some more prestigious mansions, depending on status and wealth. The district is directly connected to the technical subdivision, which is located in the northeast wing. Only approved individuals are allowed to live here. The automatic structures and internal mechanisms of the apartments are steam-based, but can also be upgraded with Eldritch technology. The residential district is one of the quieter parts of the city, specifically designed for housing.with different types of homes. depending on status and wealth. Lockhart's former residence is also located here.

Northeast Wing - Technical Quarter

This part is the heart of the city, responsible for the maintenance and survival of the city. It is here that the most important buildings are located, such as steam generators, water purification systems, sewers, industrial machinery and workshops. The generator room is the largest building, providing the city's entire power supply and the operation of the city's mechanics. The area can be expanded and is also suitable for placing special equipment, such as Eldritch modules.

Western Sector – Entertainment District

The Entertainment District Located in the western sector of the city, this special district is illuminated by pulsating red crystals in the cave walls. It is home to brothels, pubs, gaming caves and other pirate delights. The red light of the crystals creates a unique atmosphere, especially around the ornate central brothel, the House of Crimson Pleasures. The entertainment district is always bustling, and anyone can find relaxation and fun here – or get into trouble.

Eastern Sector – Business District

This is the commercial center of Lockhard Town. It is home to a vaulted market, black market shops, and pseudo-honest merchants. It is a center for laundering looted goods: many of the goods purchased here end up in legitimate stores in the empire's cities. The stores are automated structures that, when activated, emerge from the cliff walls using steam and gears, and their names are displayed on illuminated signs.

Southwest Sector – Research Quarter

The Southwest Sector’s Research Quarter is a hidden area, home to scientific and experimental technologies. Pirates research and develop captured forbidden technologies here, including Eldritch devices. The laboratories operate in isolation. The machines and structures under development are often dangerous. The quarter is connected to the sewer system by separate roads, which can also be used as an escape route.

Sewer System - Smuggling Routes

A vast sewer system running beneath Lockhart Town is the city's secret artery. It drains away sewage, but it also acts as a secret passageway. Some tunnels open out onto the surface, providing a hidden smuggling route between the city and the outside world. Only the initiated know about these. They can also be used as an escape route if pursued. In some places, an automatic lock system protects the passageways.
