Magic and alchemy

The magic of the Hofferson Empire is not magic in the traditional sense. It is a technology-based magic that is psychically enhanced. The old magic has completely disappeared thanks to technological development. Those who still have the spark of magic in them will become the imperial magicians. Due to the change, the schools of magic have also changed, some schools have disappeared and sunk into oblivion, others have transformed. People sensitive to magic, and the magic users of the Clockwork Elves can only cast spells with the help of some kind of catalyst. This catalyst can be practically anything, a mage staff, a special glove, a special pendant, anything in which the magician installs a catalyst that helps his magic. This catalyst is usually a small mechanical device with a crystal.

There are 9 schools of magic, these are:

Electromancy School:

which uses lightning energy, the most common school, its students learn to masterfully manage and manipulate the energy.

Magnetomancy School :

That which uses magnetism in its magic, taking advantage of magnetic fields found in nature.

Alkimo Technique School:

A hybrid school that evolved from rune magic and incorporated some elements from alchemy. Its students learn the use of runes and how to combine them with the effects known in alchemy, both positive and negative.

Mechanomancy School:

This school is the newest school, those who choose this school can learn how to harness their power in machines, mechanical devices, and how to create structures imbued with magic.

Psi-technik School :

This school evolved from illusion magic, and requires strong psychic and mental strength to master. Its students can learn how to trick the senses with their own psychic will. They can sense the inner feelings and thoughts of others, and see the past or future if they are strong enough.

Steam Technology School :

This school uses the power of steam in its magic. Its students are masters of shaping the manipulation of steam, for them steam is not an intangible, fleeting end product. They understand and know the essence of steam and have used it in excellent ways to achieve their goals.

Aeromechanica School :

Students of the School of Air learn to control and subdue the air, the wind, they can control its force, they can withdraw air from a given location, or they can fill a space with air.

Clockwork Elf ART School:

One of the most peculiar schools, its practitioners can only be clockwork elves, this school includes elves sensitive to magic, since the development of technology also affected the elves and they gradually lost their ancient magical knowledge, and the few elves who still had magic, transformed it over the centuries and now the ancient elf magic has merged with technology, and all their magic reflects the clockwork technique to a greater or lesser extent.

ELDRICHT Technomancy School:

The most dangerous and secretive school of magic, practically forbidden magic, only the most loyal and highest-ranking members of the Imperial mages can use and study it. Because the school is based on the alien ELDRICHT technology, it is unstable and dangerous if not used properly. Those who know and use it will become the most powerful magicians in the Empire. ELDRICHT Magic is not fully known even to the Imperial mages, as it is of alien dimensional origin. And although the mages are constantly researching and conducting strictly secret experiments to decipher it. they are still very far from a breakthrough, if they ever achieve it. Using the little knowledge they have learned, they have created a terrifying magic.

Alchemy magic school:

In the Hofferson Empire, Alchemy is also classified as a school of magic, but it is not included in the 9 main schools. Alchemy is divided into two parts: Imperial Alchemy and traditional civilian Alchemy.

Imperial Alchemists:

Alchemy itself is taught in several schools. Students are closely monitored by Imperial mages, and the best and most talented students, if they prove their unconditional loyalty, can be called among the Imperial Alchemists, who work under the Imperial mages, in the name of the Empire. They conduct secret experiments. And help the mages and the Inquisition work.

Civilian Alchemists :

Those Alchemists who are not accepted or invited to join the Imperial Alchemists become Ordinary Alchemists, usually working in medicine, as assistants to inventors, or as independent Alchemists.
