Strong Arm Clan Biology & Physiology

Strong Arm Clan Biology & Physiology

The Four-Armed Islanders of Not-Hoth

Species Overview

The Strong Arm Clan is a surviving lineage of the island peoples of Not-Hoth, distinguished by having four functional arms instead of two.

The island populations descend from ancient Sakh settlers and the planet's original inhabitants, known as the People. Generations of inherited variation produced distinct lineages, including Strong Arm, Tall Horn, Shadow Cat, and the now-extinct Long Tail Clan.

Strong Arm individuals are biologically related to mainland sa-khui but possess their own inherited characteristics.

Following the volcanic destruction of their island homeland, surviving Strong Arm members relocated to Icehome and other allied communities.

General Appearance

Strong Arm individuals have humanoid bodies with two legs, one head, a torso, and four arms arranged in two pairs.

They possess characteristics associated with Sakh ancestry, including horns, tails, prominent canine teeth, and glowing blue eyes from their khui.

Skin coloration, horn shape, hair, facial features, height, and muscular development can vary between individuals.

Their four arms are the clan's defining anatomical feature.

Strong Arm people are not a separate four-armed animal species, nor are they mainland sa-khui who developed additional limbs after receiving a khui.

Four-Armed Anatomy

Strong Arm individuals possess two pairs of fully developed arms attached to the upper torso.

Each arm contains functional bones, joints, muscles, nerves, and blood vessels. Every hand can grasp objects, manipulate tools, and perform precise movements.

Their shoulders, chest, back, and supporting musculature accommodate the additional limbs.

All four arms are naturally coordinated by a single nervous system and brain.

The additional pair is present from birth. It cannot be acquired through khui implantation, resonance, or training.

A Strong Arm individual cannot retract or conceal their extra arms through biological transformation.

Strength and Coordination

Four arms provide advantages in lifting, carrying, climbing, grappling, and performing tasks requiring multiple handholds.

A Strong Arm hunter might stabilize a spear while holding another object, while a craftsperson could secure materials with one pair of hands and work with the other.

However, additional arms do not automatically double a person's strength.

Strength depends on muscle development, body size, age, health, and experience.

Complex coordination requires concentration and practice. Having four hands does not mean a person can perform four unrelated complicated tasks perfectly at once.

Movement and Balance

Strong Arm people walk upright on two legs.

Their additional arms can assist with balance and climbing, particularly across rocky terrain, steep slopes, or uneven surfaces.

They can maintain several handholds simultaneously, providing useful stability.

Their bodies remain subject to fatigue, injury, and ordinary physical limitations.

Four arms do not grant supernatural speed, flight, or the ability to climb perfectly smooth surfaces without assistance.

Clothing and Equipment

Clothing must accommodate all four arms.

Tunics, coats, wraps, and protective garments require additional openings and appropriate tailoring.

Carrying straps, hunting equipment, and other tools may be modified to suit their anatomy.

Equipment made for two-armed humans or mainland sa-khui may require alterations.

The additional arms must remain present during everyday activities, not appear only during combat.

The Khui

Strong Arm individuals carry khui, living symbionts that protect compatible hosts from Not-Hoth's toxic atmosphere.

The khui regulates body temperature, improves healing, contributes to longevity, and produces the characteristic glowing blue eyes.

Strong Arm people can experience the same basic khui functions as mainland sa-khui.

Their four arms are inherited anatomy, not a khui-generated ability.

Receiving a khui does not cause a human or mainland sa-khui to grow extra arms.

Health and Healing

Strong Arm individuals can suffer broken bones, muscle injuries, dislocations, infection, exhaustion, and other physical conditions.

All four arms are vulnerable to injury.

A damaged limb may limit certain activities, although the remaining arms can sometimes compensate.

Their khui improves healing but does not guarantee instant recovery or regenerate severed limbs.

Serious injuries still require appropriate care, rest, and treatment.

Male Reproductive Anatomy

All male Sakh-descended lineages possess a characteristic penile spur.

This includes mainland sa-khui, Strong Arm, Tall Horn, Shadow Cat, Outcasts, and males of mixed Sakh ancestry.

Strong Arm males possess the same basic reproductive structure despite their additional pair of arms.

The spur is a natural anatomical feature positioned near the base of the penis. It contributes additional stimulation during consensual mating.

It is not a separate reproductive organ, weapon, or supernatural ability.

The spur is inherited through Sakh ancestry and is not produced by the khui.

Strong Arm males do not possess additional genital organs merely because they have four arms.

Their extra limbs affect their skeletal and muscular anatomy, not the number of reproductive systems.

Female Reproductive Anatomy

Strong Arm females possess a functional reproductive system capable of conception, pregnancy, and childbirth.

Their four arms do not imply additional reproductive organs, multiple uteruses, or an increased number of ovaries.

Their reproductive anatomy follows the shared biological foundations of Sakh-descended females, with individual variation possible.

Female Strong Arm individuals do not possess the characteristic male penile spur.

The exact internal anatomical differences between Strong Arm females and mainland sa-khui females are not fully established.

Resonance and Mating

Strong Arm individuals can experience khui resonance.

Resonance occurs when a khui responds to a biologically compatible potential mate, producing a distinctive humming sensation near the heart and an intense reproductive drive.

The response is involuntary, but it does not automatically create love, establish ownership, or remove personal agency.

Strong Arm anatomy does not produce a separate form of resonance.

Their four arms and inherited reproductive features do not guarantee fertility or pregnancy.

Relationships can develop through affection, trust, and personal choice regardless of resonance.

Pregnancy and Childbirth

Strong Arm females can become pregnant and give birth.

Pregnancy involves the development of offspring within the reproductive system, as with other compatible Sakh-descended lineages.

Their additional arms do not automatically increase the number of children conceived or carried.

The khui supports the mother's survival and healing but does not eliminate every pregnancy or childbirth risk.

Pregnant individuals still require adequate food, rest, warmth, and appropriate care.

A newborn must receive a functioning khui to survive Not-Hoth's atmosphere.

Inheritance and Mixed Ancestry

Four arms are an inherited characteristic associated with Strong Arm ancestry.

Children of Strong Arm parents may inherit the additional pair of arms alongside other physical traits.

In mixed-ancestry families, children may inherit characteristics from multiple Sakh-descended lineages.

The precise genetic mechanism controlling four-arm inheritance is not established.

Do not automatically assume every child with one Strong Arm parent has four arms or that mixed ancestry always eliminates the trait.

A child's established anatomy must remain consistent throughout the campaign.

Male offspring with Sakh ancestry possess the characteristic penile spur under this campaign's shared Sakh biology rules.

Physical Development

Strong Arm children are born with their inherited limb structure.

Their four arms develop strength and coordination as they grow.

Young children must learn to control their limbs through ordinary movement, play, practice, and experience.

They are not born with the strength or coordination of adult hunters.

Development varies between individuals.

Additional arms do not automatically cause accelerated growth, advanced intelligence, or unusual maturity.

Clan Identity

Strong Arm is both a biological lineage and a cultural identity.

Its members retain their ancestral traditions, family relationships, and clan history despite the destruction of their island homeland.

They may become hunters, gatherers, craftspeople, caregivers, healers, or leaders.

Their anatomy can influence how they perform tasks, but it does not determine personality, intelligence, morality, or social role.

Campaign Continuity Rules

  • Strong Arm is a surviving four-armed Sakh-descended island lineage.

  • Members possess two legs, one head, and four functional arms.

  • All four arms are natural, permanent anatomy present from birth.

  • Additional arms improve certain physical tasks but do not grant unlimited strength or perfect multitasking.

  • Clothing and equipment must accommodate four arms.

  • Strong Arm individuals possess horns, tails, and other inherited Sakh characteristics, with individual variation.

  • Their khui provides atmospheric protection, warmth, healing, and glowing blue eyes.

  • Four arms are inherited, not created by the khui.

  • All male Sakh-descended individuals possess the characteristic penile spur, including Strong Arm males.

  • Strong Arm individuals do not possess extra reproductive organs because of their additional arms.

  • Females can experience pregnancy and childbirth.

  • Four-arm inheritance in mixed-ancestry children is not guaranteed or governed by a known fixed percentage.

  • Newborns require their own khui.

  • Strong Arm individuals can experience resonance without losing personal agency or consent.

  • The clan retains its identity and ancestry after the destruction of its homeland.
