Alveron Architecture

Alveronian architecture is defined by a fusion of fortified strength and rising sacred grandeur, reflecting a kingdom shaped by feudal oaths, expanding towns, and the intertwined authority of crown and church. Structures are commonly built from pale plastered stone laid upon thick masonry foundations, often contrasted by dark exposed timber framing in urban homes and guild buildings. Roofs rise steeply and are clad in deep red clay tiles, their sharp angles designed to shed rain and winter frost. Towers dominate the skyline—tall, narrow, and vertically emphasized, crowned with spires or copper domes weathered to green by time. Great churches employ pointed arches, ribbed vaulting, high stained-glass windows, and stone buttresses, creating interiors that draw the eye upward toward divine judgment. In towns, houses feature projecting upper floors, carved lintels bearing family crests, and enclosed courtyards hidden behind stone walls, while castles rely on square defensive towers, crenellated curtain walls, and layered gatehouses built for endurance rather than ornament. Decorative sculpture commonly depicts saints, kings, and divine figures crushing demons beneath their feet, reinforcing the Church’s doctrine of order over chaos. The overall character of Alveronian architecture expresses hierarchy, permanence, and disciplined beauty, where every structure—from cathedral to townhouse—reflects the kingdom’s belief that law, faith, and crown together impose order upon the world.
