Vidasus

Vidasus, Keeper of the Green Boundary

Overview

Vidasus is the god of the threshold where wild forest meets open meadow, the quiet borderland between shadowed bough and sunlit grass. He is beloved by shepherds, druids, foresters, and those who live close enough to the wilderness to respect its moods. Unlike gods of conquest or storm, Vidasus does not demand temples of stone. His sanctuaries are old tree-lines, mossy pasture walls, sheep paths, and places where roots creep slowly into cultivated land.

Nature and Worship

Vidasus loves trees that grow wild, especially those left untrimmed by axe or crown decree. He blesses tangled groves, ancient hedgerows, and forests allowed to reclaim abandoned fields. Yet he is not an enemy of shepherds or farmers. He teaches that meadow and forest must, both endure, each respecting the other’s edge. Shepherds leave offerings of grapes, ears of grain, milk, meat, wine, at his shrines asking him to keep wolves fed elsewhere and guide lost lambs home.

Divine Purpose

Vidasus stirs wildlife and druids to guard the living borders of the world. When nobles overcut forests or hunters slaughter beyond need, his displeasure may come as brambles across roads, wolves gathering at dusk, or birds falling silent all at once. His druids do not always seek war, but they are stubborn protectors of old growth and sacred boundaries. To them, a forest edge is not empty land waiting to be claimed; it is a living covenant.
