The Acceleration (Made in Heaven's Climax)

The Exponential Flow of Time When Enrico Pucci achieved the evolution of Made in Heaven at Cape Canaveral, the fundamental rules of the universe were rewritten. The Stand's primary function was to manipulate the gravitational forces of the earth, moon, and universe to exponentially accelerate the flow of time.

  • This acceleration was not a localized event; it affected the entire cosmos simultaneously.

  • The acceleration started slowly—clocks ticking slightly faster, the sun moving a bit quicker across the sky—but compounded infinitely, reaching speeds where days, months, and years passed in the blink of an eye.

The Organic vs. Inorganic Divide The true horror of Made in Heaven was its selectivity. The time acceleration strictly applied to non-living, inorganic matter, and to Enrico Pucci himself. Living organisms, bound to their normal biological clocks, were trapped in real-time as the world decayed and spun around them.

  • Environmental Chaos: Civilians watched the sun streak across the sky as a continuous, blinding band of light. Oceans dried up and refilled, buildings instantly weathered and collapsed into dust, and machines sped out of control.

  • Biological Stasis: Because living things did not accelerate, a person could be trapped in a falling elevator for what felt like seconds to them, while hours passed in the outside world. Food rotted in people's hands before it could be eaten, and clothes disintegrated off their backs.

  • Pucci's Godhood: Enrico Pucci was the sole living being exempt from the biological stasis. He moved in tandem with the accelerated time, making him appear to possess infinite speed to anyone else. He used this to systematically dismantle Jotaro Kujo, Jolyne Cujoh, and their allies.
