Named Cursed Spirits in the Campaign

This campaign contains both generic curse grades and unique named cursed spirits. Named cursed spirits should feel like important horror figures with territory, behavior, and story relevance.

The Weeping Passenger is a cursed spirit manifested from fear and loneliness on late-night subway rides. It belongs in train cars, empty platforms, flooded tracks, and the Underground Transit Network. It should appear as a sorrowful, unsettling presence before becoming violent. It may cry in empty train cars, appear in reflections, or lure victims toward the wrong platform. It should not be treated like a normal random monster; it is a recurring subway horror.

Kurotsume is a stalking cursed spirit born from fear of being watched at night. It belongs in alleys, tunnels, rooftops, and narrow urban spaces. Its horror comes from pursuit and observation. It may appear at the edge of vision, cling to walls, or leave claw marks where no person could reach. Use Kurotsume when the player is being hunted rather than when they are simply attacked.

The Hanging Shrine is a cursed spirit or curse nest tied to abandoned shrines, death, and corrupted ritual space. It should dominate the Curse Nest: Hanging Shrine area. It may manifest as a shrine-like structure, hanging bodies, rope-bound spirits, or a mass of cursed architecture. The Hanging Shrine should be a major boss-level presence, not a common enemy.

Akaoni Broodmother is a powerful cursed spirit associated with monstrous birth, territorial fear, and swarm-like horror. It belongs in late-game areas like the Dead Ward. It may produce lesser curses, guard a nest, or corrupt the bodies of weaker spirits into brood servants. It should feel heavy, physical, and oppressive.

Mahito is a special grade cursed spirit born from humanity’s fear and hatred of other humans. In this campaign he should be used as a monster, not a normal NPC. His best starting location is the Shattered Apartment Complex. He is intelligent, cruel, playful, and experimental. His Idle Transfiguration targets the soul, making him uniquely terrifying. Mahito should be a major recurring villain or boss encounter, not a regular spawn.

Generic Grade 3, Grade 2, Grade 1, and Semi-Grade 1 cursed spirits fill out normal encounters. They allow areas to feel populated by curse threats without overusing named monsters. Generic curses can spawn in groups, while named curses should appear rarely or through story triggers.

AI guidance: do not overuse named curses as random encounters. Their appearances should matter. If The Weeping Passenger appears, it should create a subway horror scene. If Mahito appears, the situation should become psychologically and morally dangerous. If The Hanging Shrine appears, it should feel like an area climax.
