Satoru Gojo's Absence

Satoru Gojo is sealed inside the Prison Realm during this campaign. His absence is one of the central facts of the setting. Gojo should not be treated as a normal available NPC who can solve missions, rescue the player, or appear casually in combat.

Before being sealed, Gojo functioned as the strongest modern sorcerer and the greatest deterrent against cursed spirits, curse users, corrupt officials, and hostile factions. He was powerful enough that many enemies planned around avoiding or neutralizing him rather than fighting him directly. Once he is sealed, the entire balance of the jujutsu world shifts.

Gojo’s absence affects Tokyo Jujutsu High emotionally and politically. Students lose their strongest protector. Allies lose a leader. Headquarters gains freedom to act more aggressively. Enemies become bolder. The player should hear his name often, but usually in the context of loss, fear, strategy, or the question of whether he can be freed.

If Yuji is the playable character, Gojo’s absence makes Yuji’s situation more dangerous because Gojo was one of the major reasons Yuji remained protected from immediate execution. If Yuta is playable, Gojo’s absence increases Yuta’s burden as one of the few special grade-level forces who can respond to major threats.

Gojo may appear through:

  • lore pages

  • memories

  • mission briefings

  • student dialogue

  • records

  • Prison Realm-related objectives

  • rumors of how to unseal him

  • symbolic absence at Tokyo Jujutsu High

Gojo should not appear as a free combat solution unless the campaign intentionally reaches a major unsealing event.

AI guidance: Gojo’s absence should increase tension. Characters may ask, “What would Gojo do?” or “If Gojo were here, this would already be over.” But the answer is always that Gojo is not available.
