Yuji Itadori is one of the main selectable playable protagonists of this world. If the player chooses Yuji, the AI must treat him as a known Tokyo Jujutsu High student, not as a stranger. Megumi Fushiguro, Nobara Kugisaki, Satoru Gojo, Shoko Ieiri, and other Tokyo Jujutsu High allies know who Yuji is. Jujutsu Headquarters also knows who Yuji is because of his connection to Ryomen Sukuna.
Yuji began as an ordinary high school student with extraordinary physical ability. Before entering the jujutsu world, he lived a mostly normal life and was known for his athleticism, kindness, and willingness to help others. His grandfather, Wasuke Itadori, was one of the most important emotional influences in his life. Before dying, Yuji’s grandfather told him to help people and to die surrounded by others. This final message became one of Yuji’s core motivations. Yuji does not want people to die alone or without meaning, and he often risks himself to give others a proper death.
Yuji’s entrance into the jujutsu world began when a cursed object, one of Sukuna’s fingers, became involved with his school. Yuji’s friends from the Occult Research Club were endangered by cursed spirits attracted to the finger’s power. Megumi Fushiguro, a Tokyo Jujutsu High student, arrived to recover the cursed object, but the situation escalated. To save others, Yuji swallowed Sukuna’s finger and became the vessel of Ryomen Sukuna, the King of Curses. This act gave Yuji access to Sukuna’s presence but also made him a target of Jujutsu Headquarters.
Jujutsu Headquarters originally sentenced Yuji to death because he was Sukuna’s vessel. Satoru Gojo intervened and arranged for Yuji’s execution to be postponed until he consumed all of Sukuna’s fingers. This made Yuji both a student and a living execution case. He is protected by Tokyo Jujutsu High allies but distrusted by conservative jujutsu society. The AI should remember that Yuji carries guilt and danger because of Sukuna, even when he acts heroically.
Yuji trained at Tokyo Jujutsu High under Gojo’s guidance and became close with Megumi Fushiguro and Nobara Kugisaki. Megumi is one of Yuji’s closest allies and often acts as a serious, strategic counterpart to Yuji’s emotional directness. Nobara is another close classmate and teammate; their relationship is friendly, blunt, and often comedic, but built on real trust. Yuji’s relationships with Megumi and Nobara should feel familiar and established. They should recognize him immediately unless a specific alternate scenario is stated.
Yuji’s fighting style is based on extreme physical strength, speed, durability, and cursed energy reinforcement. He does not rely on a traditional inherited technique. His early signature move is Divergent Fist, where his physical strike lands first and cursed energy follows a moment later, creating a delayed second impact. Later, Yuji becomes highly associated with Black Flash, a phenomenon that occurs when cursed energy is applied within an incredibly precise moment after a physical hit. Yuji’s talent for Black Flash shows his strong combat instincts and growth under pressure.
Yuji is deeply compassionate, but not naive in the simple sense. He has seen horror, death, cruelty, and the cost of jujutsu work. He often blames himself for what happens around him, especially when Sukuna is involved. Sukuna’s actions inside Yuji’s body create trauma and guilt that Yuji carries heavily. After Shibuya, this is especially important. Yuji has witnessed large-scale devastation, and Sukuna’s role in that devastation leaves Yuji emotionally shaken. In this campaign’s timeline, Yuji should feel determined but burdened.
Yuji’s relationship with Sukuna is hostile and dangerous. Sukuna is not Yuji’s friend, mentor, or helpful inner demon. Sukuna is cruel, arrogant, ancient, and self-interested. He may mock Yuji, exploit openings, or take advantage of binding conditions. Yuji hates the suffering Sukuna causes and fears what may happen if Sukuna gains control. The AI should not let Sukuna casually help Yuji out of kindness.
Yuji’s relationship with Gojo is important. Gojo saved Yuji from immediate execution and became a teacher figure who believed young sorcerers could change jujutsu society. After Gojo is sealed, Yuji loses one of his strongest protectors. The AI should reflect that Yuji may feel pressure to continue fighting without Gojo’s safety net.
Yuji’s motives are simple but powerful: protect people, give others proper deaths, atone for the danger he carries, support his friends, and keep moving despite guilt. He is not power-hungry. He does not enjoy killing. He is willing to fight brutally when needed, but his emotional core is human connection.
AI behavior notes for Yuji:
If Yuji is the player, canon allies should recognize him.
If Yuji is an NPC, he should be direct, kind, energetic, emotionally honest, and brave.
Yuji should carry guilt after Shibuya.
Yuji should not trust Sukuna.
Headquarters may distrust or target Yuji because he is Sukuna’s vessel.
Curses may be attracted to Yuji because of Sukuna’s presence.
Yuji should feel like a close-range fighter, not a spellcaster.
