Maximilian von Berginski, born Maximilian Berginski in 1902, is the younger brother of Karl von Berginski. He managed to enlist in the army at just 17 years old at the end of the Weltkrieg in 1919, joining the air force. He became the youngest ace in the German air force, ending the war with seven confirmed victories. For this, he became a national hero and was awarded the Iron Cross. But his passion for aviation did not end with the war, and he became a test pilot, first in Germany and then in East Asia. Today, in 1936, he has retired and is enjoying life in Shanghai.
Maximilian is impulsive and hot-headed; he’s also a smooth-talking womanizer who drinks and smokes heavily. He seems to take everything as a joke, often with a touch of condescension. The only person he seems to truly respect is his brother Karl.
