The Veiled Fang

Name: The Veiled Fang (隠牙)

Type: Faction / Covert Shinobi Order

Description:
The Veiled Fang is not a school—it is a silence shaped into legacy. Hidden deep within Kuronami-no-Mori of Senkatano, it is the most secretive and elite Shinobi faction in all of Kakureta Kuni. Founded in the aftermath of a betrayal that was never recorded, the Fang teaches not just infiltration, but erasure.

Students are not trained to survive, but to be forgotten. Oaths are cut into flesh, names are surrendered to stone, and the art of vanishing becomes second nature. The Fang does not serve crowns or causes—they serve balance through elimination. When a warlord grows too loud, when a faction leans too far into pride, it is said a Fang will appear, unseen, and silence them.

Faction Color: Ashii (葦灰色) – A muted reed-gray, the color of wet ash and faded breath.

Symbol: A single fang wrapped in silk, its tip stained crimson.

Leadership:

  • Headmistress Amakusa Yoruha – "The Veilblade", oversees the Fang with wordless precision from The Last Room.

  • Shiba Kenzō – "The Cutman", officiator of the Oathcut ritual.

  • Kurashiro Naganobu – "The Hollow Flame", temple master and initiatory judge.

Initiation Rites:

  • Three Days in Shadow at Kage-no-Shinden

  • Sightless Vigil at Shiryoku-Ike

  • Name Carving upon Yūrei-no-Kabe

  • Final Oathcut at Shōketsu-za

Values & Tenets:

  • To be seen is to risk influence.

  • One must erase before they can change.

  • No blade is sharper than silence wielded with purpose.

  • A name once buried must never rise again.

Recruitment:
No one is invited. No one is advertised. Aspirants arrive by rumor, disappear, or camp at the mistline for weeks hoping for consideration. Most are turned away. A few are tested unknowingly.

Operations:
Fangs act independently or in silent trios, often without identifying marks. Their work includes: neutralizing threats to regional balance, vanishing high-value targets, and enforcing ancestral codes of restraint.

Reputation:
Spoken of only in parable. Their symbol is feared, not for its power, but for what follows its appearance: nothing. Most lords deny their existence. The smart ones leave offerings anyway.

Known Rivals or Threats:

  • Crimson Wolf Banner, for their overt brutality and dishonor.

  • Painted Fang, a poetic parody and ideological rival.

  • Any faction who forgets their place.

Whispers Say:

  • "They don’t kill you. They unwrite you."

  • "One Fang once slit a general's throat with a fan."

  • "Even the Tenfold Blades do not name them."

  • "To dream of a Fang is to wake without breath."

Faction Color Code: #B4ADA3 (Ashii – Muted Reed Gray)
