Valley Whispers

Valley Whispers

People of Kernath speak in half-truths and warnings. They don’t give quests — they share stories, and let strangers walk into them.

The Abbey’s Crypt:

They say the Abbey’s lower halls were sealed with iron and prayer. Some nights, red light flickers beneath the stone.

The Bridgekeeper’s Debt:

The man guarding the bridge still collects tolls for a king long dead. Some whisper he keeps the coins to buy his way out of the valley.

Ash in the River:

Gold dust floats on the river at dawn. Fishermen say it poisons the water, but a few still try to gather it, hoping it can be sold as medicine.

The Forsaken Child:

Someone saw a pale boy near the woods, his veins glowing faintly. They say the Golden Blood still lives inside him. The Church calls it blasphemy; the Forsaken call it proof.

The Burned Ledger:

A page from the Abbey’s ledger once surfaced at the bridge — it mentioned “Aven Thar” and “Day 214: The blood turned gold.” No one knows who took the rest of the book.
