The Shattering of Santa’s Soul

In the final winter war, @Santa Claus stood alone at the Heart of the North, facing the three greatest terrors ever born of twisted belief: @Jack Frost, @Krampus, and the @The Mouse King. Once, these three had been enemies to one another, but fear of Santa’s growing power forced them into a dark alliance. They knew that as long as Santa lived, joy would always rise again.

The battle was cataclysmic. Jack Frost froze time itself, locking the battlefield in endless winter. Krampus shattered Santa’s defenses with brute, merciless strength. The Mouse King, cunning and patient, struck not at Santa’s body—but at his soul. Using forbidden magic stolen from forgotten faiths, the Mouse King performed a ritual mid-battle, tearing Santa’s spirit apart while he still lived.

Santa was defeated.

His soul did not die—it was ripped into three divine fragments, each violently torn from him as he fell.

The @The Shard of Wrath was ripped free in the moment Santa struck back one final time, filled with burning fury at the betrayal of the world he loved.
The @The Shard of Authority was torn from his crown and name, the power that made him ruler of Everjoy and master of the Knights of Xmas.
The @The Shard of Longing was the last to break away, formed from Santa’s endless love, regret, and hope that the world might yet be saved.

The three villains seized the shards and fled. Santa’s body vanished into snow and starlight, his name fading into legend. Without his soul, Everjoy collapsed into ten years of cold darkness.

Ancient prophecy reveals the truth of the shards’ power. If all three Santa Soul Shards are reunited, their bearer gains an impossible choice. They may use the shards to resurrect @Santa Claus, restoring him completely and returning balance, warmth, and true joy to the world. Or they may consume the shards and ascend, claiming the Epic Boon of Sainthood, becoming an immortal being of overwhelming power—stronger than any king, monster, or god Everjoy has ever known.

Yet sainthood is not purity.

The shards can also create an Epic Boon of Evil Saint, a twisted savior who rules through fear, enforced joy, and eternal punishment, bringing untold misery while believing themselves righteous.

@Jack Frost, @Krampus, and the @The Mouse King all know this truth now. What began as an alliance has become a silent war. Each fears the others. Each schemes to steal the remaining shards. None intend to share power.

@Everjoy stands on the edge of its final winter.

Santa can still return.
A saint can still rise.
Or the world may fall under a tyrant crowned in holy light and frozen blood.

The fate of Christmas no longer belongs to legend—
it belongs to whoever claims the soul of Santa Claus.
