Products and Services
Luna Municipal is what is best described as a mix of a United Nations style diplomatic agency and a corporate Cartel mediator. After humanity left Earth to settle on the moon, Luna Municipal was established to help the various human factions and organizations prevent wars and manage widespread governance problems in a megacity of monumental scale. Every corporation contributes finances to, and is governed by, Luna Municipal and they set all the rules for how the various factions settle their differences or trade with each other. All courtrooms, law enforcement, city zoning, and other such governmental processes are handled by Luna Municipal. To include the atmospheric processors on the far side of the moon that keep life sustainable in Luna City. In theory they are the perfect neutral ground between the powerful MegaCorps and other factions owing no allegiance to anyone and designed to serve all of humanity. In practice however, the organization is prone to corruption and bribes and sometimes gets so mired in bureaucracy that it can take years for any real changes to be made. However in order to ensure that no one MegaCorp gains too much power and influence over Luna Municipal, there is a ruling authority called the High Council. The High Council has a representative from all eight MegaCorps and each has an equal vote on policy decisions. In the event of a stalemate no change is enacted, and things remain as they are. An additional difficulty for Luna Municipal is the fact that corporate owned territory is considered private land, and the corporations are allowed to govern their own territory however they want. Limiting the scope for how much judicial enforcement Luna Municipal can cover unless an obvious universal crime (like murder) is committed. This creates a very complicated and convoluted legal situation that can make trials long and drawn out.
