Meathlaigh, Goddess of Disease and Decay

Meathlaigh, Goddess of Disease and Decay

Domains & Aspects:

Putrefaction, decomposition, disease, rot, mold, blight, filth, poison, withering of life, corruption of flesh, plant life and soil.

Symbols:

A worm wrapped around a wilted flower, usually a lily or rose; a rotten skull with worms in it's eye sockets and mouth; rotting fruit, usually an apple or pear.

Realm:

The Rotting Mire — a swamp of endless mire, filled with all things in different stages of decay, decaying trees and an area of rotting corpses turned into trees, sinking ruins, filled with the stench of decay. Meathlaigh's Cavern, where she resides, completely converted in mold, mycelium and fungi, with a kitchen filled with all things rotten and a pit of absolute decay, where the pure essence of decay and rot itself wells into an endless pool.

Personality:

Patient, calm, soft-spoken yet insidious, seems like she's nice at times, but is definitely not, she wants all things to decay and stay in a state of eternal rot, whether it's alive, dead or undead. She has a liking for undead, but wishes the ones that don't decay to rot, as it's what she desires, it being the purest form of a constant state of decay.

Appearance:

She resembles a withering, freshly rotted female with glowing red eyes like a flys within her insidiously shaped, slightly large eye sockets, lacks a nose and only has the nasal bone and piriform aperture, her skin is patchy green, black, brown, colors of mold and decay throughout, has the texture of the combination of mostly rotting meat, with a little bit of completely rotten wood and various plant materials mixed in, rotten, broken, sharp teeth, wears a robe completely made of mold and the foulest fungi, lined and kept together with mycelium.
