Verithel, God of Law and Justice

Verithel, God of Law and Justice

Domains & Aspects:

Law, order, truth, justice, divine punishment and the balance of society. He upholds oaths, punishes deceit and ensures fairness among mortals and gods alike.

Symbols:

A balanced scale; a burning gavel; a book bound in golden chains.

Realm:

The Hall of Accord — The realm of law, order and justice. An immense marble hall of white and silver, its walls inlaid with glowing gold runes of truth. Endless courts, chambers and vast libraries spiral outward like spokes of a wheel, presided over by tireless spirits of judgment who aid in cataloging the information of souls, spirits, entities and their punishments, along with most of the oaths sworn to deities. At its heart lies the Pillar of Judgement, a colossal crystalline obelisk with a large golden scale at it's base that hums with divine law, judging the souls of the dead and the living alike, unraveling lies and illusions within its presence. Even gods tread carefully here, for no falsehood endures beneath its light.

Personality:

Stern, disciplined, unwavering, straight forward, Verithel embodies the impartiality of the scales. He does not yield to bribes or pleas meant to sway him from fairness, though his judgments are not without compassion. To him, justice is not vengeance but prevention, he believes mercy has true worth only when it strengthens the greater harmony. Though some see him as rigid, others revere him as the one who ensures order does not crumble into chaos.

Appearance:

He resembles a very tall, very muscular pale, stern elf, with two sets of golden tipped, silver angelic wings, long, wavy light blonde hair, piercing, glowing icy blue eyes, wears thick gold lined silver armor, wields a giant, golden hammer.
