The City Watch

Led by @Sir Gordon. Caught in the middle of all this stands the City Watch: a weary, underfunded force tasked with maintaining “order” in a place that barely remembers what that word means.

Watchmen patrol crumbling walls and lamp-lit streets with dented helms and patched gambesons, facing threats that would challenge seasoned knights. They investigate goblin kidnappings with too few men, chase Intergang rumors with no support, and try to enforce curfews in neighborhoods effectively ruled by the Falcone family or local gangs.

Corruption, inevitability, seeps into their ranks. Some captains take bribes to ignore Falcone shipments. Others are secretly in the pocket of the Court of Owls, Intergang, or A.R.G.U.S. informants. Yet many guards remain grimly honorable, clinging to their oaths like drowning men to driftwood. They are the flickering lanterns in Gotham’s darkness, symbols of dwindling hope and the bitter reality that law without power is just a story.

When goblin raids escalate or people go missing from outlying villages, it is often the Watch that first confronts the aftermath – burned farms, empty cradles, tracks fading into the Vale. They are caught between orders from above and the pleas of common folk, earning both mistrust and desperate gratitude.
