Region: North-central, set into Veridian Fields' northern edge | Patron faith: Korvath | Governance: Mining Council, led by an elected Overseer
An industrial mining city built directly inside an ancient meteor impact crater, centered on a dark red, glassy meteorite fragment jutting from the crater floor. Radial layout: Forgeworks and City Hall in the inner ring, mine entrances and guildhalls in the middle ring, dense housing filling the outer ring.
Settled within a generation of the meteor strike itself, once the site cooled enough to approach safely. Early settlers were drawn by rumors of the strange, glassy stone littering the crater floor; the meteoric iron trade that followed made Cinderbruk wealthy far faster than its rough, industrial reputation might suggest.
Led by an elected Overseer — currently Overseer Bram Halloway, a pragmatic former miner himself, popular for genuinely understanding the conditions he now regulates. The Mining Council beneath him handles claims disputes, safety standards, and trade agreements with Panshaw and Ironcliff Town.
Almost entirely built around meteoric iron extraction and smithing. The metal's faint, unsettling shimmer and superior durability make it prized across the continent — Cinderbruk goods carry real prestige, sold as far as Panshaw's dedicated Cinderbruk Trading Post.
Loud, ash-tinted, industrious at all hours — the Forgeworks never fully go quiet. Miners treat the central meteorite with a reverence that blurs religious awe and simple respect for a genuinely enormous, valuable rock; small offerings left at its base before each shift are common enough to be unremarkable.
Rowena Fitch, blacksmith, has strong professional ties to several Cinderbruk smiths and occasionally sources materials directly from the crater.
