OLD GROWTH

Domains: Nature | Alignment: Neutral Symbol: A ring of tree rings, uncountable Holy Day: Planting and Harvest, treated as two halves of a single observance

History and Character

Old Growth isn't so much worshipped as acknowledged — less a personality to petition than a presence to respect. Farmers across Veridian Fields, including those around Millbrook, keep small unworked stones at field edges as a quiet courtesy, a way of saying the land isn't only theirs, even as they work it.

Notable Myth — "The Field That Refused"

A greedy landowner is said to have once demanded a field yield three harvests in a single season. It did — and then produced nothing at all for seven years after, patiently waiting out its own exhaustion regardless of what anyone demanded. The story isn't framed as punishment so much as simple consequence, which fits Old Growth's generally patient, undramatic character.

Relationships

Quiet ally to Meri (renewal, cycles). Largely uninvolved in other faiths' politics or disputes.

Taboo

Overworking land past what it can recover from is treated as a slow, cumulative offense rather than a single sin — no one is struck down for it, but a farmer who does it is understood to be inviting their own bad seasons.
