East of Dioskuria, beyond the ring highway, stretches the old industrial belt known as the Rioni Valley Works: mines, smelters, rail yards and rare-earth strip pits. The Works feed the cyborg trade with metals and salvaged parts. It holds the Gekko Graveyard, a plain where hundreds of bipedal mechs were abandoned in the wake of the collapse, and the NanoSys Complex, a Charter-era nanomachine fabrication complex built by NanoSys International, a proxy company of ArmsTech and the Patriots, which nobody has been able to switch off. The Dzmoba holds most of it and keeps its headquarters in the Rail Yards, and several companies contest the mines. Novaya Khvatka, a Russian PMC, keeps an encampment, Obyekt Kolkhida, in the north-west.
