Exodia Holiday

Feast of the First Light

Date: January 1

This holiday marks the symbolic beginning of the Sanctified Cycle calendar, commemorating the dawn after the final Demon Lord fell. According to tradition, the sun rose brighter than ever before, symbolizing that the world had been freed from the darkness of the Demon Age.

At sunrise, temples ring bells across cities while priests perform the Rite of Twelve Flames, lighting twelve large candles representing each saint.

Citizens often gather for early morning prayers and public blessings. Adventurers traditionally begin new quests on this day because it is believed to bring divine luck.

Families share warm meals and exchange small golden halo tokens for good fortune.

Day of the Twelve Halos

Date: March 21

This is the most sacred religious celebration of the Exodia faith.

It commemorates the moment when the Twelve Saints united their power and defeated the final Demon Lords, ending the Demon Age and beginning the Sanctified Cycle.

Cities are decorated with twelve glowing halo symbols hanging from cathedrals and city gates. Massive processions take place where statues of the saints are carried through the streets.

Priests read passages from The Sanctified Chronicle, specifically the chapters describing the final war.

Children often wear paper halos during the celebration, representing the belief that anyone might be born a saint.

Adventurers sometimes perform ceremonial monster hunts on this day as reenactments of the saints’ legendary battles.

Sanctified Ascension

Date: May 12

This holiday celebrates the birth of the Exodia Inquisition.

According to scripture, this was the day when the surviving saints gathered and declared that the world must never again fall to demon rule.

During Sanctified Ascension, new Exodia recruits take their vows, swearing to hunt demon lords and protect the realm.

Ceremonies often include the blessing of weapons and armor by priests. Knights, inquisitors, and soldiers march through cities in grand military parades.

In some regions, this day is also when new adventurers officially register with the Adventure League, symbolizing the continuation of the saints’ legacy.

The Burning Vigil

Date: July 30

A somber holiday remembering the horrors of the Demon Age.

Cities extinguish all lanterns at sunset, leaving the streets in darkness for one hour to symbolize the world before the saints.

After the hour passes, great bonfires are lit in town squares, representing the light of the saints driving away darkness.

Priests recount the atrocities committed by demon lords so the world never forgets what happened.

This is also a day when many prisoners accused of demon contracts are publicly judged by inquisitors.

Feast of the Adventurers

Date: September 9

This holiday celebrates the founding of the Adventure League by Saint Oscar Brussa.

Cities host tournaments, duels, monster-hunting competitions, and storytelling festivals where bards sing about famous quests and legendary heroes.

Adventurers gather in guildhouses to celebrate their profession, drink heavily, and share tales of glory.

Young people often sign up to become adventurers on this day, believing it brings luck and heroic destiny.

Guilds sometimes give discounted registration fees for new recruits.

Night of Fallen Saints

Date: October 31

A quiet and reflective holiday honoring saints and heroes who died fighting demon lords and monsters.

Candles are placed in windows and along roads so the spirits of fallen heroes may “find their way home.”

Inquisitors and adventurers often visit old battlefields or saintly shrines to offer prayers.

Some regions hold silent processions, where people walk through the streets carrying lanterns and speaking no words until midnight.

Halo Gift Festival

Date: December 24–25

This winter celebration marks the belief that the divine light of the saints continues to bless the world.

Families exchange gifts shaped like halos or stars, symbolizing divine protection.

Church choirs sing hymns praising the Twelve Saints while temples decorate their halls with golden ribbons and glowing lanterns.

Children are told stories about the saints’ adventures, inspiring them to grow into future heroes.

Large feasts are held across cities, and adventurers returning from quests often donate part of their earnings to temples or orphanages.

Cultural Differences

Not every nation celebrates these holidays the same way.

For example:

• Pendragon Empire observes them more as historical events rather than strict religious worship.
• Asio Empire mixes saint celebrations with traditional festivals.
• Hosman Kingdom largely ignores them because of the Furban faith.
• Red Union territories reject the holidays entirely.

However, across most of the civilized world, the Faith of the Twelve Halo remains deeply influential.

Temples still repeat the same prayer during every holiday:

“May the Twelve Halos guide the world,
and may darkness never rise again.”
