PART I — The First Dawn

PART I — The First Dawn (8000 Years Ago)

The Age Before Division

Eight thousand years ago, civilization was young, fragile, and undefined.

@Human and @Beastfolk were not seen as separate peoples. They shared land, language roots, tools, and even settlements. Differences existed in form—fur, horns, tails, claws—but not in identity. They hunted together. Farmed together. Bled together.

But unity does not survive ambition.

Humans began building structured cities—stone walls, irrigation canals, written record. They pursued expansion, philosophy, early science, and governance. Order became their strength.

Beastfolk chose differently. Rather than centralize power, they returned to instinct and lineage. Tribes formed by species: wolves with wolves, foxes with foxes, bears with bears. They made pacts not through law but through blood and ritual. Strength was respected, survival was sacred, and territory was personal.

The split was not war.

It was divergence.

Centuries passed. @Elf emerged from deep forests, claiming ancient groves and weaving magic with nature itself. @Dwarf and @Rock Dwarf rose from mountain holds, carving stone citadels beneath the earth. They formed smaller but powerful kingdoms—ancient, proud, isolated.

The world became a tapestry of early civilizations.

It was peaceful.

It would not remain so.
