The Halo Currency System

The Halo Currency System

Universal Monetary Standard of the Three Continents

For nearly three thousand years, the people of @Wulfasaga, @Oktoberland, and @Dragoon Island have shared a single monetary system known as the Halo Currency System. Unlike most economic systems that change with empires or rulers, the Halo standard survived the Demon Age, the rise of the Twelve @Saint, the Sanctified Cycle, and the current era of kingdoms and demon powers.

The reason for its longevity is simple: the system was designed to be simple, divisible, and universally recognizable, allowing trade to continue even during times of war or collapse.

Merchants, kingdoms, The Adventurer League, demon lords, and even the @Fallen Lotus Lands all use the Halo system when conducting trade or issuing rewards.

Pure Halo

Material: Gold
Value: 100 Standard Units (100 dollars equivalent)

The @Pure Halo is the highest commonly circulated coin in the world economy. Forged from refined gold and stamped with a circular halo symbol, the coin represents wealth, authority, and stability.

Pure Halos are used for large purchases such as land, ships, military equipment, magical artifacts, and large trade agreements. Nobles, merchants, guild leaders, and powerful adventurers commonly carry them in sealed coin purses or chests.

Because of their high value, most common people rarely see Pure Halos in daily life.

The name “Halo” comes from the ancient design of the coin, which was originally minted as a perfect ring-shaped circle representing divine order and balance.

Silver Halo

Material: Silver
Value: 1 Standard Unit (1 dollar equivalent)

The @Silver Halo is the most widely used coin in everyday trade. Made from polished silver, it carries the same circular halo design as the gold coin but in a simpler form.

Silver Halos are used for daily purchases such as food, tools, clothing, lodging, and local trade. Farmers, artisans, soldiers, and travelers rely heavily on this denomination.

Most wages and mission rewards in the The Adventurer League are calculated primarily in Silver Halos, with large contracts sometimes paying partial rewards in Pure Halos.

Because of its accessibility, the Silver Halo is considered the true backbone of the global economy.

Crack Halo

Material: Broken fragments of Halo coins
Value: 0.25 Standard Units (25 cents equivalent)

The @Crack Halo represents the smallest widely accepted currency in circulation. These are broken fragments of larger Halo coins, usually produced when coins become damaged, worn, or intentionally split for smaller transactions.

Although the pieces may originally come from either gold or silver coins, once broken they lose their original value and are accepted only as fractional currency.

Crack Halos are commonly used by laborers, travelers, and markets dealing with inexpensive goods such as bread, fruit, or small tools.

Because they are fragments, they are often irregular in shape, with the broken edges revealing the metal inside.

Origins of the Halo System

Historians trace the Halo currency back roughly three thousand years, during the later stages of the ancient pre-demon civilizations. At that time many kingdoms struggled with unstable coinage systems that changed whenever rulers minted new money.

The Halo system solved this by standardizing weight and purity rather than relying solely on political authority.

Even when demon lords rose to power during the Demon Age, they continued using Halo coins because merchants and armies already trusted the system.

After the fall of the Demon Lords, the Exodia Inquisition officially adopted the Halo standard, declaring it the universal currency for trade across the continents.

Because of this decision, the same coins can now be used in:

@Fallen Lotus Lands
@Oktoberland
@Dragoon Island

This shared economic language allows merchants and travelers to trade freely across borders despite political conflicts.

Use in the Modern Age

Today the Halo system remains the economic foundation of the known world.

Kingdom treasuries store vast reserves of Pure Halos.

Markets run almost entirely on Silver Halos.

And Crack Halos circulate constantly in the hands of everyday workers.

Even powerful factions such as the Adventurer League, Exodia Inquisition, and various demon lord territories still rely on the system.

A mercenary in Oktoberland, a dragon rider in Dragoon Island, and a merchant in Wulfasaga can all recognize the value of a Halo coin instantly.

Symbolism of the Halo

The circular design of the Halo coin has taken on deeper meaning over the centuries.

To many it represents divine balance and order, reflecting the influence of the Saints.

To others it represents endless cycles of power, where kingdoms rise and fall but trade continues.

For adventurers and mercenaries, however, the meaning is much simpler.

A Halo coin means survival, opportunity, and reward.

And as long as the Halo system exists, even the chaos of saints, demon lords, and interdimensional wars cannot completely break the world’s economy.
