The Frozen Seaway [1] is a frigid area first introduced in Monster Hunter 4. Interestingly, the Frozen Seaway is not a northern locale. It used to have a much warmer climate, but, a long time ago, entirely froze over near instantly. How and why this happened is unknown, but it is described as a "freak weather event". This area is inhabited by a wide variety of monster types, including Lagombi, Kushala Daora, and Zamtrios. A massive whirlpool can be seen in the ocean not far from the coast.
