The Second American Civil War (2064–Present)
The Second American Civil War (2064–Present)
In 2064, the @United States Of America entered a new and devastating era — the Second American Civil War, a conflict not born of politics or geography alone, but of evolution itself.
After nearly half a century of Quirk integration, tensions between @Quirk Human citizens and @Quirkless Human civilians reached a breaking point.
What began as scattered uprisings and ideological protests erupted into a full-scale war that continues to tear at the soul of the nation eleven years later.
The Spark of Revolution
The seeds of conflict were sown by fear and inequality.
Despite 80% of Americans possessing Quirks by 2060, strict federal hero licensing laws — controlled by the @Heroes League of America and the Department of Heroic Safety (DHS) — limited who could legally use their powers in public.
Many lower-class Quirk users, denied licenses or Guild sponsorships, felt oppressed by a system that rewarded control and image over survival and freedom.
Then came the voice that ignited the flames — @Jackson Justice, a decorated war veteran, charismatic orator, and high-level Quirk user whose abilities and ideals would fracture the nation.
The Birth of the New Yankees
In 2064, Jackson Justice declared the creation of a revolutionary faction known as @The New Yankees, a militant alliance of superpowered citizens who believed that those with Quirks were destined to lead humanity — not serve it.
Calling themselves “the true heirs of freedom,” the New Yankees claimed the federal government had corrupted the ideals of liberty by forcing gifted individuals to register, restrict, and monetize their powers.
Justice’s manifesto, “The Declaration of Evolution,” became their rallying cry:
Within months, armed uprisings spread through the Midwest and central states. Cities fell, bases were seized, and the United States fractured.
The Divided States
By late 2065, eight states had declared allegiance to the New Yankees’ revolutionary government, renouncing Washington’s authority and forming the Superhuman Republic of America (SRA):
@Montana
@Wyoming
@North Dakota
@South Dakota
@Super Kansas
@Missouri
@Arkansas
@Mississippi
Their capital was established in Kansas City, renamed New Liberty, where President Jackson Justice governs behind fortified walls and propaganda networks.
The New Yankees’ Symbolism and Identity
The New Yankees’ army wears gray and black tactical uniforms adorned with a patch of a stylized star flag — five stars streaked across yellow, red, and blue.
Each color carries meaning:
Yellow: Evolution — the dawn of a new human age.
Red: Revolution — the blood shed to claim it.
Blue: Supremacy — the calm dominance of the evolved.
Members salute under the phrase “Strength is Freedom.”
They operate in rigid military hierarchy, blending guerrilla warfare with advanced Quirk warfare tactics. Their units include specialized groups such as:
@New Yankee Trooper – Frontline soldiers with destructive or weaponized Quirks.
@New Yankee Captain – Elite commanders and strategists, personally trained by Justice.
President @Jackson Justice
Title: President of the @The New Yankees
Former Role: U.S. Army Hero Division Commander
Quirk: Judgment Field — emits an aura that forces truth from those within its range and empowers allies who share his conviction.
Once a national hero, Jackson Justice became a revolutionary leader when he denounced the HLA in 2063, accusing them of “enslaving heroes to politics.”
He preaches that Quirks represent the next step of human evolution — and that the old democratic government must be replaced by a new Meritocracy of Power, where leadership is earned through strength, wisdom, and will, not votes.
Under his rule, the Superhuman Republic has become both a sanctuary and a dictatorship — where freedom exists only for those strong enough to maintain it.
The Federal Response
The @United States Of America, led by President @Theodore Stan Lee, consider the rebellion an act of domestic terrorism.
The Heroes League of America, National Guard, and Hero Defense Coalition have worked jointly to reclaim lost territory, but progress has been slow.
Quirk warfare has redefined combat itself — battles now involve bio-fields, energy storms, and psychic terrains, devastating entire cities overnight.
The conflict has reached a bitter stalemate, with both sides entrenched along the Central Divide, a militarized border stretching from North Dakota to Mississippi.
Impact on Hero Society
The Civil War has fractured the nation’s hero community.
Some heroes have defected to the New Yankees, believing in their vision of evolution and freedom.
Others stand firmly with the HLA, defending the ideals of democracy and equality.
The NCQA and AHAO systems have been militarized — students are now evaluated not only for hero potential, but for loyalty.
The Hero Network broadcasts both propaganda and reality, documenting the war’s toll while fighting misinformation.
Many civilians call this era the “Age of Division.”
Current Status (2075)
The war rages on with no end in sight.
The United Heroic States retain technological superiority and global alliances, but the New Yankees control vital agricultural and energy territories, allowing them to sustain themselves indefinitely.
Jackson Justice remains alive, rarely appearing in public but continuing to broadcast fiery speeches from his capital.
Rumors persist that he is developing a weaponized Quirk augmentation serum known as Project Genesis — a technology that could permanently alter the balance of power.
Meanwhile, peace talks have failed, and both sides prepare for what many believe will be the Final Campaign of America’s Future.
