One For All is one of the most powerful and mysterious Quirks in existence. Unlike ordinary Quirks, which belong to a single individual, One For All can be willingly transferred from one person to another. With each new wielder, its accumulated strength grows, creating a power that has been cultivated across generations.
One For All grants extraordinary physical abilities, including immense strength, speed, and durability. However, its true significance lies in its history. For generations, the Quirk has been passed between individuals determined to oppose evil and protect those who cannot protect themselves.
Its existence is a closely guarded secret, known only to a select few. Even the world's greatest heroes remain unaware of its true origins.
One For All originated during the chaotic early years of Quirk society, when a powerful criminal known as All For One rose to prominence.
All For One possessed the ability to steal Quirks from others and distribute them at will. Using this power, he established a vast criminal empire and sought to control society.
His younger brother, Yoichi Shigaraki, opposed his ambitions. Frail and believed to be Quirkless, Yoichi was powerless to stop his brother directly.
Attempting to force Yoichi to submit, All For One gave him a Quirk capable of stockpiling physical power.
Unknown to both brothers, Yoichi already possessed a dormant Quirk that allowed him to transfer his ability to another person.
The two Quirks merged, creating something entirely new: One For All.
Where All For One represented power taken through force, One For All became a power passed through trust.
Yoichi could not defeat his brother, but his determination inspired others. Before his legacy could disappear, One For All was passed to a successor, beginning a struggle that would continue for generations.
Original Quirk: Quirk Bestowal
The younger brother of All For One and the original wielder. Despite his physical weakness, Yoichi possessed an unwavering sense of justice. His determination to resist his brother established the foundation of One For All's legacy.
Original Quirk: Gearshift
A resistance leader who fought against All For One during the earliest days of Quirk society. Kudo helped rescue Yoichi and inherited One For All after his death. He continued the struggle against All For One, ensuring the power survived.
Original Quirk: Fa Jin
A fellow resistance fighter and close ally of Kudo. Bruce understood that One For All needed time to develop into a power capable of defeating All For One. He continued strengthening the Quirk before passing it onward.
Original Quirk: Danger Sense
Unlike his predecessors, Hikage avoided direct confrontation with All For One. He spent years living in isolation, training and cultivating One For All's accumulated strength. His dedication significantly increased the Quirk's power.
Original Quirk: Blackwhip
A courageous hero known as Lariat. Daigoro inherited One For All and continued fighting against villainy. His energetic personality and determination embodied the heroic spirit that connected the Quirk's wielders.
Original Quirk: Smokescreen
A resourceful fighter who understood that survival was essential to preserving One For All. His Quirk produced thick clouds of smoke, allowing him to conceal movements and escape dangerous situations. He carried the legacy until it could be passed onward.
Original Quirk: Float
A compassionate and courageous Pro Hero who believed that heroes should bring hope to people through their smiles. Nana became the mentor of Toshinori Yagi, recognizing his determination despite his lack of a Quirk. She eventually sacrificed her life fighting All For One, leaving her successor to continue the struggle.

Toshinori Yagi inherited One For All from Nana Shimura and eventually became the legendary hero All Might.
Through extraordinary training, determination, and mastery of One For All, he became the Symbol of Peace. His overwhelming strength and reassuring presence inspired countless people and helped create an era of relative peace.
However, a devastating battle with All For One left him severely wounded. His injuries drastically limited the time he could maintain his heroic form.
Knowing his remaining strength would eventually disappear, All Might began searching for someone worthy of inheriting his power.
Original Quirk: None — Born Quirkless
Izuku Midoriya grew up dreaming of becoming a hero despite being born without a Quirk.
His admiration for All Might inspired him to study heroes obsessively, but his dream seemed impossible until a chance encounter changed everything.
When Midoriya witnessed a fellow student being attacked by a villain, he rushed forward to help despite having no powers.
All Might witnessed this act of selfless courage and recognized the qualities of a true hero.
He offered Midoriya the opportunity to inherit One For All.
After ten months of intense physical training, Midoriya received the Quirk by consuming a strand of All Might's hair.
Now possessing the accumulated strength of eight previous generations, Midoriya must learn to control a power far beyond what his inexperienced body can safely withstand.
His journey as the ninth wielder has only just begun.
One For All possesses two fundamental abilities.
Power Stockpiling: One For All continuously accumulates physical power. Every successor inherits the strength built by previous generations, granting extraordinary physical abilities. As the power increases, it becomes progressively more difficult for an unprepared body to withstand.
Quirk Transference: One For All can be willingly transferred through the consumption of the current wielder's DNA. The transfer requires the wielder's intention, preventing the Quirk from being taken through accidental contact or consumption.
After transferring One For All, the previous wielder may retain temporary remnants of its strength, known as embers. These gradually fade as the remaining energy is exhausted.
One For All cannot be mastered through inheritance alone. Its overwhelming strength requires physical conditioning, discipline, and control.
Using too much power without sufficient preparation can cause devastating injuries.
One For All contains more than accumulated physical strength.
Deep within the Quirk exist remnants of its previous wielders, known as vestiges. These preserved consciousnesses represent the generations of individuals who carried the power.
The original Quirk factors of several previous wielders are also preserved within One For All, existing as dormant abilities.
Throughout most of its history, these hidden powers remained inaccessible, leaving successive wielders largely unaware of their existence.
At the beginning of Midoriya's journey, these deeper abilities have not manifested.
Neither Midoriya nor All Might fully understands the secrets contained within One For All.
To them, it remains primarily a Quirk granting extraordinary physical strength.

One For All has recently passed from Toshinori Yagi to Izuku Midoriya.
All Might remains the world's greatest hero and Symbol of Peace, but his injuries and declining strength are carefully concealed.
Midoriya is preparing to begin his education at U.A. High School, hoping to become a Pro Hero worthy of his predecessor's trust.
Although he possesses extraordinary potential, he has almost no experience controlling his newly inherited Quirk. Releasing its full strength threatens to shatter his own body.
The identities of the previous wielders, the existence of the vestiges, and the dormant abilities hidden within One For All remain largely unknown to him.
