Education is considered a universal right throughout most of civilized space. Children begin with local instruction before continuing into specialized academies devoted to engineering, medicine, diplomacy, history, navigation, xenobiology, military science, ecological restoration, or Precursor research.
Students routinely learn alongside members of other civilizations through exchange programs supported by the Galactic Accord. Universal translators remove language barriers, allowing cooperation from an early age while preserving native languages and traditions.
Practical experience is valued as highly as academic knowledge. Apprenticeships aboard exploration vessels, research stations, hospitals, convoy fleets, and orbital shipyards are considered essential steps toward adulthood across much of the Orion Frontier.
