Description
The Iron Veil Nomads are the largest alliance of mobile fleets, convoy cities, salvage guilds, and frontier caravans operating beyond the borders of permanent civilization. While each convoy governs itself independently, all recognize the authority of the Grand Convocation, a gathering of Fleet Marshals and Elder Navigators held once every five standard years.
The Coalition controls many of the galaxy's unofficial trade routes, hazardous frontier crossings, and salvage operations. Their knowledge of abandoned colonies, forgotten Hyperlanes, derelict fleets, and unexplored systems makes them indispensable to explorers, merchants, and governments alike.
Although frequently mistaken for smugglers or scavengers, the Iron Veil maintains strict laws regarding hospitality, trade, and convoy neutrality. Assaulting a registered Iron Veil convoy is considered an attack against the entire Coalition and is answered swiftly by fleets arriving from across known space.
The Iron Veil owes allegiance to no planet. Their civilization exists wherever their engines carry them, proving that a people need not possess a homeland to become a nation.
