Greenline

@Greenline

Location: Northern Bastion Interior
Status: Agricultural & Environmental Systems Sector
Year: 2092 (30 Years After the Fall)

Overview

Greenline is the Bastion’s integrated agricultural and sustainability district. It houses vertical farming towers, water recycling infrastructure, environmental regulation systems, and residential blocks designed around long-term ecological stability.

If Verdant Horizon controls food production at scale, Greenline is where that production is physically embedded into the city.

Unlike Ironhold’s density or Lowward’s compression, Greenline incorporates visible plant life into its architecture. Agricultural towers rise alongside residential megablocks. Water channels and filtration systems are integrated into exterior façades.

In 2092, Greenline represents controlled biological resilience inside the walls.

Pre-Fall Identity

Before 2062, Greenline was a mixed residential and municipal services district. It included parks, mid-rise housing, environmental research facilities, water management systems, and experimental urban agriculture initiatives tied to sustainability planning.

It was not central to the city’s prestige but played a supporting role in maintaining livability. Flood mitigation channels and recycling plants were already embedded into its design.

This pre-existing environmental infrastructure made it highly adaptable after the Fall.

Collapse & Early Fall Impact (2062–2070)

When the Fall began, Greenline’s environmental systems became critical. Water pressure and purification stability across the Bastion depended on functional recycling loops.

Early outbreaks in nearby outer districts threatened contamination of water channels. Emergency isolation valves were installed. Entire sub-level water lines were rerouted internally to prevent infection spread through utility infrastructure.

Between 2063 and 2070:

  • Vertical farming capacity was expanded aggressively.

  • Public parks were converted into nutrient growth platforms.

  • Residential zoning was restructured to integrate agricultural floors into housing towers.

  • Water purification plants were hardened against sabotage and contamination.

Greenline shifted from sustainability support to survival infrastructure.

Current State – 2092 (30 Years After the Fall)

In 2092, Greenline operates as a hybrid residential-agricultural ecosystem.

Verdant Horizon maintains major vertical grow arrays here, though central processing occurs elsewhere. Hydroponic towers glow faint green at night from interior growth lighting. Algae and fungal growth chambers operate in sealed lower levels.

Water filtration plants function continuously, supplying multiple Bastion sectors. Environmental monitoring systems regulate humidity and air quality within district boundaries.

Residential towers are integrated with agricultural floors, creating shared utility systems between living and production spaces. Schools and clinics incorporate environmental systems education as standard curriculum.

Greenline is stable, methodical, and long-term focused.

Environment & Atmosphere

Greenline feels open compared to other sectors.

Rooftop terraces are common. Transparent piping carries recycled water visibly between structures. Plant life is present but controlled — no overgrowth, no unmanaged spread.

Lighting is softer. Air feels marginally fresher due to active filtration. Public spaces host small food markets and sustainability exhibitions rather than high-density retail corridors.

Noise levels are lower than Lowward or Ironhold. Machinery hum is constant but subdued.

The district feels balanced — engineered calm rather than natural wilderness.

Infected Presence

Rating: 1 / 100

Infected incidents in Greenline are extremely rare.

Water systems are continuously monitored for contamination. Agricultural floors operate under strict biosecurity protocols. Any suspected infection triggers immediate isolation of affected sections.

The last significant internal infection event occurred during the early consolidation years.

Greenline is treated as essential infrastructure.

Containment here is uncompromising.
