Overview
The Greenreach is a broad, overgrown district caught between some of the city’s most dangerous zones — the Scorched Foundry to the east, the Frag-Zone to the south, the Sunken Rifts to the west, and the Highspires looming to the north.
It is not a boundary.
It is a buffer.
The Greenreach is where the ruined city settles into a new normal: broken infrastructure, reclaimed streets, and enough stability that people still pass through, trade, and occasionally stay.

Atmosphere
Quietly alive.
Buildings stand intact but weathered, their lower levels choked with vines, moss, and creeping trees. Streets are cracked and uneven, but passable. Nature dominates without overwhelming — plants grow aggressively but not unnaturally, forming green corridors through concrete canyons.
Light filters cleanly here. Power flickers intermittently, enough to keep streetlights glowing at night and signage half-functional. Rain pools in streets instead of flooding them. Wind moves freely.
The district feels habitable, even if it isn’t safe.

Reputation
Reliable — by post-Fall standards.
Among survivors, the Greenreach is known as a workable zone. Not a destination, not a refuge, but a place where movement is possible without immediate disaster. Routes through it are well-known. Landmarks still make sense.
If something goes wrong here, escape is still an option.

What It Was Before the Fall of the City
Before the Fall, the Greenreach was a mixed-use district: residential blocks, local commercial zones, small offices, and transit spurs connecting larger districts. It wasn’t prestigious or industrial — it existed to support the city’s daily rhythm.
People lived here because it was close to everything.

How It Stands Now – 30 Years After the Fall
Thirty years later, the Greenreach remains structurally sound but clearly reclaimed.
Most buildings are intact up to mid-level floors. Upper stories show weather damage and plant growth, but collapses are rare. Streets have become informal pathways, shaped by use rather than planning. Some structures have been partially cleared and reinforced by survivors passing through over the years.
There are no permanent major settlements, but temporary camps, safehouses, and trade posts appear and disappear regularly.
