Territory of the Keepers of Haven

Territory of the Keepers of Haven

The Keepers do not control all of Greenhaven. They hold a deliberately compact, defensible pocket within it, chosen for infrastructure access, natural barriers, and minimal visibility from the rest of New Hope City.

Their territory occupies roughly one-quarter of the Greenhaven peninsula, centered on the inland side rather than the exposed waterfront.

Boundaries

  • North: A wide residential boulevard now collapsed by root growth and intentionally sabotaged beneath the pavement. Vehicles cannot cross it without heavy clearing.

  • East: Dense, unmanaged woodland and overgrown private estates left intentionally wild, forming a natural visual and sound barrier.

  • South: A shallow inlet and marshy shoreline where seawater regularly floods lower roads, limiting access to foot traffic only.

  • West: A former collector road partially barricaded and monitored—the only controlled entry point.

From the outside, this territory appears abandoned like the rest of Greenhaven. That illusion is protected at all costs.

Internal Layout

Within their borders, the Keepers occupy:

  • 6–9 large mansions, repurposed as housing, storage, workshops, and communal spaces

  • Two modern condo blocks, partially cleared and internally connected via sealed corridors

  • One underground utility access hub, providing power, water, and data routing

Streets inside the territory are selectively cleared—never wide enough for vehicles, always narrow enough to funnel movement. Overgrowth is pruned only along key sightlines and escape routes.

Lighting is minimal and indirect, often reflected off walls or foliage rather than openly exposed.

Security Approach

  • No walls, no banners, no obvious fortifications

  • Hidden obstacles, dead-end routes, sound traps, and diversion lights

  • Elevated watch points disguised as abandoned balconies or rooftop gardens

  • The infected are diverted or quietly removed before they can accumulate

If an area becomes compromised or too visible, the Keepers abandon it without hesitation, shifting deeper into Greenhaven.

Population

  • Estimated 40–70 people

  • No visible children in public areas

  • Movement is scheduled and controlled

  • Outsiders are never allowed to wander freely

Philosophy of Territory

The Keepers do not believe in borders drawn on maps.

They believe in zones that remain unnoticed.

Greenhaven is large enough to hide them.
Their territory exists only as long as no one knows where it is.
