Snake Nation

By 2097, the Snake Nation has become far more than a loose confederation — it is the invisible backbone of the post-collapse American frontier, a vast network of nomadic clans, smugglers, mercenaries, and traders united under a single creed: “No borders, no masters, no leash.” Though still decentralized and anarchic in structure, Snake Nation now wields more influence than any remaining government west of the Mississippi.

Their origins trace back to the 2020s, when fractured nomad groups — from transporters to pirates — banded together after the Corporate Wars decimated civilian infrastructure. While the Aldecaldos and Jodes sought community and purpose, Snake Nation sought leverage — a way to turn freedom into power. Over decades, they evolved into a shadow economy, operating trade routes, communication networks, and smuggling channels that corporations and governments alike depend on but publicly denounce.

By 2097, Snake Nation controls most autonomous road convoys, off-grid settlements, and black-market trade corridors across the continental wastelands. Their influence stretches from the Arctic convoys of Canada to the oxygen refineries of Mexico, and even into low orbit, where Snake tech crews manage stolen launch pads and illicit cargo transfers to the Lunar colonies.

They have no central leader — instead, power flows through “The Coil,” a decentralized web of clan elders, fixers, and warlords connected via encrypted netlines. Each major clan within the Nation governs its own territory and customs but contributes to the shared defense and trade networks. This makes them unpredictable, difficult to infiltrate, and nearly impossible to eradicate.

Their relationship with @The Aldecaldos is complex — sometimes allies in mutual survival, sometimes rivals over territory or ideology. The Aldecaldos lean toward protecting people and community; Snake Nation believes in protecting freedom itself, no matter the cost.
Meanwhile, @Militech and the NUSA government see the Nation as a dangerous force — a mobile insurgency that could unite the wastelands under its own banner if ever fully organized.

Yet despite this, Snake Nation continues to thrive, bound not by law but by loyalty, reputation, and the unspoken rule of the road.

They are the unseen empire beneath the neon sky — smugglers, raiders, freedom brokers, and highway kings.
To the corps, they are outlaws.
To the nomads, they are the original bloodline.
