The "Free" (But at a Cost)

If the Off-World is the corporate-approved "out," then the Badlands and the Nomads are the unapproved, rugged, and dangerous "out."

• Nomads are "Free," but... The Nomad clans like @The Aldecaldos are the freest people in the world. They are not trapped by a single city's economy or a corp's vertical hierarchy.

  • Their Freedom is Built on Struggle: This freedom isn't the luxury of Selene Prime. It's the freedom of constant movement, scarce resources, fighting off Raffen Shiv, and navigating the treacherous politics between clans and corps. Their freedom is earned daily through grit, skill, and community.

  • They are the Circulatory System: @Night City may be an oasis, but it would starve without the Nomads. They are the transporters, the smugglers, the oilers, the traders. They control the vital supply lines that connect the "oasis" to the rest of the dead world. This gives them immense, often overlooked, power.
