The rivalry began decades ago after a disputed conference championship and has grown into the biggest sporting event of the year.

Two hours before every home game, the football team walks through cheering students on the way to the stadium.
Hundreds gather to high-five players and wave school flags.
Before kickoff, the stadium lights dim and a recording of a lone wolf howl echoes through Wolf Den Stadium. As the howl ends, the student section erupts into chants while pink smoke fills the entrance tunnel and the team charges onto the field.
At the start of the fourth quarter, students hold up their phone flashlights, turning the stadium into a sea of lights as the band plays the university anthem.
Athletes aren't treated like untouchable celebrities, but they're impossible to ignore.
