The Friend in the Light. Mammonax is the Archdevil Lord of Debt and Gilded Things, and the Patron of King Draxos Vane's pact. He never appears as a devil. He appears as warm light, as a kind voice at your shoulder, as a friend who only wants the best for you.

Twenty-five years ago, when Draxos prayed not for his lost queen but for safety, Mammonax answered. He showed Draxos the body of Aurix beneath Aurum and gave him the wealth to build untakeable walls. The price was simple: "Nothing now. Keep it perfect. One day I will collect."

The Gilded Chain. Mammonax never lies. He omits. He instructed Draxos to build a perfect city and to keep it perfect at any cost. Every act of greed committed to maintain Aurum’s shine, every act of apathy, every imperfection hidden rather than healed, pays interest on the contract. The debt is not counted in coin. It is counted in compromise.

He does not want gold. The gold was always for Aurix. Mammonax wants Aurix’s heart.

Present Day. He is patient, warm, and reasonable. The most dangerous kind of devil.
