Queen Bonnie Vane
Small Humanoid (Human), Neutral Good
“I could not breathe. So I left.” — Bonnie Vane
The Lost Queen. Official histories of Aurum list Queen Bonnie Vane as deceased, taken by Ferrum raiders during a border incursion in 1498 DR. The histories are wrong.
Bonnie was not taken. She departed.
For eleven years she served as queen-consort to Draxos Aurum, a role that required stillness, youth, and perfection. She bore a son, Caspian, and learned to smile while being looked at. In the winter of her thirty-first year, during a pilgrimage to the Obsidia border, she encountered a Cambion raider named Lilith Avaris. Lilith did not collect her. She offered her a horse.
Bonnie accepted.
Present Day. Bonnie dwells in The Glade, a homestead in the far corner of the Goldenrod Grasslands. She farms. Her silver hair is unbound, her hands lined, her old wedding band worn on the right hand, not the left.
She lives openly as the wife of Lilith Avaris, who built the farm with stone carried from the Wastes. Mortal and unaging, gardener and devil, they keep two chairs on the porch.
Bonnie will not return to Aurum.
