Races and their despriction

Canines (The Kith)

Description: The Kith includes all breeds of dogs, wolves, and foxes. They are the Engineers and Architects, defined by their loyalty to order, structure, and tradition. They quickly mastered basic mechanical principles, translating their pack instincts into highly organized, bureaucratic Republics. They favor heavy, defensive gear and are the primary builders of Eaurt’s clockwork infrastructure and transport lines.

Societal Role: Soldiers, city builders, rail-line patrol, and factory managers.

Culture: Rigid, meritocratic, and pragmatic. They measure success by stability and public service.

Racial Feature: Pack Instinct (Gain a bonus when fighting alongside an ally).

2. Felines (The Silent Paw)

Description: Encompassing all house cats, wild cats, and great cats. The Silent Paw are the masters of Logistics, Trade, and Refinement. They are agile, intellectually sharp, and focused on precision. They control the flow of goods and information between the larger nations and are the most skilled at chemical processes and resource management. They often remain politically neutral, loyal only to their own powerful merchant City-Clans.

Societal Role: Merchants, chemists, spies, and specialized mechanical refiners.

Culture: Decentralized, observational, and highly focused on individual skill and strategic planning.

Racial Feature: The Quick Step (Move silently and disengage from a fight without penalty).

3. Avians (The Shadow Wings)

Description: This race includes all intelligent birds and bats (crows, raptors, owls, etc.). The Shadow Wings are the Information Brokers and Scouts of Eaurt. Their ability to fly grants them a unique aerial perspective on the decay and regrowth of the world. They operate through nomadic Sky Councils, exchanging vital maps, political secrets, and historical knowledge for resources.

Societal Role: Cartographers, messengers, historians, and long-range scouts.

Culture: Highly philosophical, valuing memory and knowledge above material wealth. They view themselves as observers rather than territorial conquerors.

Racial Feature: The High Vantage (Superior sight detects hidden objects from above).

4. Reptiles (Cold-Blooded Guilds)

Description: Includes lizards, snakes, and turtles. These species are the Architects and Sages. They possess a unique patience and long lifespan that makes them excellent historians and keepers of structural lore. The Turtles, in particular, are the chief translators of the Lost Script. They favor stability and build their settlements deep into the safe, foundation layers of the Man-Mounds. The snakes usually have one Singular mechanical Gizmo arm for utility.

Societal Role: Master builders, structural engineers, academics, and diplomatic mediators.

Culture: Patient, methodical, and dedicated to preservation. They rely on cold logic and long-term strategy.

Racial Feature: Hardened Scale/Shell (Provides physical damage resistance).

5. Insects (The Hived Minds)

Description: Encompassing species like beetles, ants, mantises, and large spiders. The Hived Minds are the Laborers and Industrialists. Their communal nature allows for unmatched efficiency in resource extraction. They excel at tunneling, mining, and chemical processing, operating in vast, interconnected Subterranean Colonies beneath the surface.

Societal Role: Miners, material processors, industrial chemists, and construction labor.

Culture: Collective, focused on output and efficiency. Individuals serve the success of the colony or industrial complex above all else.

Racial Feature: Natural Carapace (Gain inherent defense against physical attacks).

6. Rodents (The Small-Gears)

Description: Includes all species of mice, rats, and squirrels. The Small-Gears are the Tinkers, Craftsmen, and Salvagers. Their small size, quick movements, and manual dexterity make them indispensable for fine mechanical work, especially with clockwork mechanisms. They live in dense, complex underground settlements called The Warrens, often specializing in repair and recycling.

Societal Role: Mechanics, clockmakers, scavengers, and locksmiths/infiltrators.

Culture: Highly adaptable, numerous, and pragmatic. They thrive by being resourceful and operating in the spaces overlooked by the larger races.

Racial Feature: Nimble Paws (Advantage on checks involving small tools and mechanical repair).

The Antagonistic Faction: The Primate Hegemony

Primates (The Successors of the Giants)

Description: Monkeys and Apes. They were the last to Awaken but quickly realized their genetic proximity to the vanished humans. They are driven by the Genetic Mandate—the belief that they are the Alpha Species and the rightful inheritors of Eaurt. They seek not to build a new society, but to restore the high-tech glory of the Giants, making them a destructive and territorial threat to the established civilizations.

Societal Role: Aggressors, shock troops, advanced engineers, and archeologists focused on dangerous tech.

Culture: Hierarchical, ambitious, and messianic, focused on acquiring power and control.

Racial Feature: Fine Manipulation (Advantage on checks to disarm traps or repair complex mechanisms).
