Half-Fish-Men
@Half-Fish-Men are the rare and often misunderstood offspring of a @Human and a @Fish-Men, beings who embody both the ocean’s freedom and the surface’s restraint. They are called Tidewalkers — born of two worlds that rarely meet in harmony. Their existence is a delicate balance between the power of the sea and the fragility of the land.
Physically, Half-Fish-Men display a blend of aquatic and human traits, the intensity of which depends on their lineage. Some appear almost human save for webbed fingers, smooth scales tracing their shoulders, or faint gills behind the ears. Others bear more striking features: sharp shark teeth, fin-like crests, coral-toned skin, or bioluminescent freckles that glow in the dark waters. Their eyes often reflect the sea — glassy, reflective, and vibrant in hue — capable of piercing visibility underwater.
Half-Fish-Men retain the ability to breathe both air and water, their dual lungs allowing effortless transition between environments. While not as fast or durable as pure Fish-Men, they remain superior swimmers to any human, their bodies built for agility in the ocean and endurance on land. Many develop a natural rhythm to the waves, moving with the grace of a current rather than against it.
Yet their hybrid nature comes with a curse — they belong to neither world. Among Fish-Men, they are seen as weak imitations; among humans, they are viewed with suspicion or fear. This prejudice drives many Half-Fish-Men to wander, earning a living as divers, sailors, mercenaries, or pirates, where the ocean offers refuge from judgment. Despite this, they are often admired for their adaptability — able to speak to sea life, endure ocean depths, and survive storms that would drown others.
Some Half-Fish-Men inherit unique abilities from their aquatic lineage, such as water manipulation, sonar perception, or the raw strength of their sea-born parent’s species. However, these powers are usually diluted — flashes of greatness rather than the overwhelming might of a pure Fish-Man. In combat, their style is a graceful dance between the fluid strikes of @Fish Man Karate Fist and the precise techniques of human martial arts, symbolizing their dual heritage.
