@Poneglyph are ancient, indestructible large square stone tablets created more than 800 years ago. Scattered across islands and seas, they hold the key to understanding the world's greatest mysteries, including the erased history of the Void Century. These monolithic relics contain knowledge of the lost civilization that once flourished, the locations of the powerful ancient weapons, and the path to Laugh Tale, the final island in the Grand Line where the treasure of Gol D. Roger lies. They are a direct link to the truths the World Government has sought to suppress for centuries.
Each Poneglyph was carved by the Kozuki Clan of @Wano Country, a family of master stonemasons who possessed the unique ability to inscribe messages into stone that is utterly indestructible. Written in an ancient and now-forbidden language, these inscriptions have withstood the test of time. The World Government, fearing the power of the knowledge these stones contain, declared this language illegal to study or use. As a result, only a few individuals in the current age can decipher the inscriptions, and those who can are often hunted or viewed as dangerous.
Poneglyphs are massive and imposing structures, usually rectangular in shape and covered with intricate carvings and glowing, ancient text. They are scattered across the world, often hidden or placed in locations of significant historical or cultural importance. Each one serves as a repository of critical information. The Poneglyphs can generally be classified into three purposes: some record historical events from the Void Century, others provide directions or clues to the locations of ancient weapons, and a special subset, known as the Road Poneglyphs, leads directly to Laugh Tale.
Beyond their role as keys to treasure and weapons, Poneglyphs are tied to the lost history of the Void Century. During this time, a great war unfolded between an advanced ancient kingdom and the precursors of the World Government. The details of this war, the nature of the kingdom, and its ultimate fate are etched into these stones. The World Government's obsession with erasing this history underscores the significance of the knowledge these Poneglyphs contain, as it could expose truths that would threaten their control over the world.
The Poneglyphs are not just artifacts of the past; they represent resistance to suppression and the enduring human quest for truth. For those who seek them, they are more than relics—they are the pathway to understanding the secrets that define the world and the power to reshape its future.
