The Galley-La Company

The Galley-La Company is the premier shipbuilding guild of Water 7, a city famed for its canals and craftsmen. Born from the unification of the strongest dockyards on the island, the Company stands as the unrivaled authority in shipwrighting, crafting vessels for pirates, merchants, and even the Marines.

To the seas, they are builders — but in truth, their influence is as mighty as any fleet, for he who builds ships, builds empires.

Their current leader is Iceburg, President of Galley-La Company.

Philosophy & Structure

The Galley-La Company is built upon three principles:

  • Craft Is Legacy – A shipwright’s name endures through their ships.

  • Water 7 First – All work serves the prosperity of the city.

  • The Sea Chooses the Worthy – They build for all, but only the sea decides who sails true.

The company is divided into Dock Divisions, each specializing in different construction arts, united under Iceburg’s leadership.

Members & Factions Within

Notable shipwrights and divisions include:

  • Iceburg – President, master shipwright, and former apprentice of Tom, builder of the Oro Jackson.

  • Dock One – Elite dock, home to the strongest shipwrights.

  • Paulie – Rope-specialist shipwright, known for his debt woes.

  • Lulu – Mechanical engineer, eccentric and brilliant.

  • Tilestone – Towering powerhouse shipwright, all strength and bluster.

  • Kokoro (allied) – Station master and ally, a link to Tom’s legacy.

Territory & Influence

The Galley-La Company’s reach extends far beyond Water 7:

  • Water 7 – Their home and shipbuilding capital, a city built on floating canals and powered by sea trains.

  • Dock Yards – Sprawling facilities where ships of every size are constructed.

  • Contracts Across the World – The Company builds for kingdoms, merchants, and even Marines — though piracy contracts are quietly ignored unless too lucrative.

Codes & Traditions

The Company upholds strict traditions of craft and loyalty:

  • The Builder’s Oath – Every ship must honor both the builder and the sea.

  • The Water Festival – An annual celebration where the finest ships are displayed and launched.

  • The Legacy of Tom – Unspoken reverence for Tom, the greatest shipwright, and his disciples.

Symbols & Customs

  • Symbol: A ship’s wheel surrounded by seven dock pillars.

  • Colors: Blue and silver.

  • Customs: Celebratory banquets at ship launches, rope-slinging contests, and canal parades.

  • Sayings: “A ship carries more than sails — it carries dreams.” / “No sea is too rough for a ship well-built.”

Allies & Enemies

  • Allies: Water 7’s government, allied tradesmen, and select kingdoms who rely on their craft.

  • Enemies: Rival shipwright guilds, underworld brokers seeking monopolies, and those who misuse their ships.

  • Neutral: Pirates and Marines alike — they serve all, though quietly judge the worth of their clients.

Sayings of the Galley-La Company

  • “Wood remembers the hand that shaped it.”

  • “The sea tests all ships — and all men.”

  • “We build tomorrow, plank by plank.”

The Galley-La Company is not a pirate crew nor a royal family, but their power is no less vast. They are the architects of dreams and disasters alike — for in a world of ships, those who build them shape the very tides of history.
