The Mink Tribe

The Mink Tribe are a reclusive race of anthropomorphic animalfolk who dwell upon the back of the ancient elephant Zunesha. Known only in scattered whispers beyond their homeland, they are warriors of unmatched ferocity, channeling the electricity of the storm through their bodies.

To those who have encountered them, they are both fearsome and noble — a people who fight with claws, fangs, and lightning, but who live by loyalty, tradition, and honor.

Their rulers are Duke Inuarashi and Nekomamushi, the Ruler of the Day and the Guardian of the Night.

Philosophy & Structure

The Mink Tribe lives by principles older than the seas themselves:

  • The Law of Loyalty – Their word, once given, is eternal.

  • Strength Through Unity – All Minks fight as one, regardless of beast or rank.

  • The Will of Zou – Their lives are tied to their homeland, Zunesha, and its eternal march.

The tribe is ruled by two sovereigns who share power between day and night:

  • Duke Inuarashi – The ruler of the daytime.

  • Nekomamushi – The ruler of the night.

Members & Factions Within

The Mink Tribe is diverse, as varied as the animals of the wild:

  • Guardians – The night patrol under Nekomamushi, sworn protectors of Zou.

  • Musketeers – The day guard under Inuarashi, expert warriors with Electro and swordsmanship.

  • The Commonfolk – Warriors and artisans alike, each Mink trained in combat from youth.

Notable figures:

  • Pedro of the Treetops – Veteran scout and warrior.

  • Wanda – Fierce canine musketeer.

  • Carrot – Young rabbit warrior, full of energy and promise.

Territory & Influence

The Minks’ homeland is one of the greatest secrets of the world:

  • Zou – The great wandering elephant, thousands of years old, carrying the Mokomo Dukedom on its back.

  • Duke’s City – Where the tribe dwells, built into Zunesha’s side.

  • The Back of the Elephant – Dense forests and rivers sustaining the Minks.

Outside Zou, their influence is minimal — but those who know of them speak of warriors unmatched in close combat.

Codes & Traditions

The Mink Tribe is bound by deep customs:

  • The Blood Oath – Once loyalty is given, it is eternal.

  • Electro Training – Every Mink learns to wield their natural electric aura.

  • The Moonlit Rite – Under the full moon, Minks awaken their Sulong form, a state of primal power.

Symbols & Customs

  • Symbol: The crescent moon of the Kozuki clan, with whom they share an ancient bond.

  • Colors: Silver and white.

  • Customs: Sharing meat in communal feasts, warrior dances before hunts, and strict rituals around the full moon.

  • Sayings: “A promise to the Minks is a promise to the grave.” / “Lightning answers the beast.”

Allies & Enemies

  • Allies: The Kozuki clan of Wano (their ancient friends), and those who honor their word.

  • Enemies: Invaders of Zou, Kaido’s Beasts Pirates (foreshadowed), and betrayers of loyalty.

  • Neutral: The outside world — most know nothing of their existence.

Sayings of the Mink Tribe

  • “The moon awakens the beast within.”

  • “Claws and lightning strike as one.”

  • “Our loyalty is our life.”

The Mink Tribe are not pirates, nor a kingdom of the seas. They are guardians of ancient bonds, warriors of storm and fang, and children of the wandering titan that carries their home.
