Fraternity's Lore and Info
đ FraternitĂ© Solvain â âThe Flame of Many, the Will of One.â
Emblem: A golden sun split by a black flame.
Motto: âUnitĂ© par lâAmbition.â â Unity through Ambition.
Overview:
FraternitĂ© Solvain is the most influential of Ossirianâs fraternities â a brotherhood born of rebels and visionaries. Its members see freedom and ambition not as opposites, but as twin forces that shape destiny. Founded by former dissidents of the Fire and Ambient Houses, the Solvains preach that unity forged by will can overcome even bloodline limits. They are the entrepreneurs, reformers, and power-brokers of the Deep â the ones who bend rules until they become new laws.
Philosophy & Culture:
Solvains believe that magic is meant to serve human ambition. They value results above rituals, and despise inherited privilege that goes untested. Their fraternity halls are filled with open debate, experiment, and quiet scheming. To join is to swear that your power will move the world â not merely impress it. Their gatherings, called Cindermoots, are half political rally, half cult sermon, and always end with fire.
Reputation & Leadership:
Other frats call them dangerous idealists â too united to crush, too volatile to trust. Their leader, Archon Rhea Solvain, is a charismatic fire-caster who treats leadership like theater and revolution both. She teaches Arcane Persuasion â how to weaponize charisma and mana together â and is rumored to have once defied the King openly and survived.
Quote:
âFreedom without power is illusion. Power without freedom is slavery. We burn both away.â
đ Ordre de Virelles â âWisdom Crowned in Silence.â
Emblem: A silver quill crossing a serpent-entwined staff.
Motto: âSapientia Aeternum.â â Knowledge is Eternal.
Overview:
The Ordre de Virelles stands as the Deepâs oldest and most conservative fraternity. To them, knowledge is both a weapon and inheritance. They view themselves as stewards of civilization â the scribes who preserve truth while others waste it in duels. Their archives rival the academyâs own, filled with banned treatises and ancient conduits under lock and seal.
Philosophy & Culture:
Members live by the Trium Virelles: Study, Subtlety, and Supremacy. Knowledge must be earned, hidden, and then used to elevate the worthy. Advancement is by debate and proof, not popularity. They scorn loud ambition, preferring quiet influence through intellect, discovery, and subtle enchantment. Many of the academyâs judges and examiners come from their ranks.
Reputation & Leadership:
They are called âthe Professors of Powerâ â brilliant, manipulative, and utterly patient. Their current head, Magister Thalienne Virelle, is an archivist who rarely raises her voice but always wins arguments. Her conduit, Le Sablier dâĂme, records every spoken word within her chamber â a living archive that never forgets.
Quote:
âIn the silence between spells, wisdom listens â and remembers who spoke first.â
đ Concorde Valcoran â âStrength through Discipline, Honor through Deed.â
Emblem: A bronze gauntlet gripping a radiant blade.
Motto: âVirtus et Concordia.â â Honor and Harmony.
Overview:
The Concorde Valcoran is the fraternity of duelists, tacticians, and defenders. They view combat as a form of prayer â precision as proof of character. Founded by Terranox and Ignos alumni, they prize mastery of oneâs craft and body equally. To them, courage is not recklessness; it is control in chaos. The Valcorans often serve as mediators in inter-fraternity conflicts, but when they do fight, they fight like legends.
Philosophy & Culture:
Every Valcoran swears an Oath of Three Blades â Courage, Skill, and Restraint. They practice a ritual of mutual combat called Le SĂ©rĂ©nitĂ© du Fer, dueling until both combatants achieve simultaneous exhaustion. To them, honor is currency, and a broken oath is worse than death. They scorn those who use magic to avoid risk; true mastery, they say, must always bleed.
Reputation & Leadership:
The fraternityâs leader, Captain Lucen Valcoran, teaches Kinetic Theory and Mana Flow in Motion. Heâs a scarred war-mage from the academyâs lost dueling wars, respected by all and feared by many. Though loyal to the King, he never kneels â his allegiance is to the code, not the crown.
Quote:
âSteel forgets fear when guided by discipline.â
đ Cercle Lunarre â âPatience is Depth. Virtue is Power.â
Emblem: A pale moon encircled by rippling waves.
Motto: âVirtus Sub Silentio.â â Strength beneath Stillness.
Overview:
The Cercle Lunarre are philosophers, healers, and mediators of the soul. They believe that magicâs truest form lies not in domination, but in comprehension. Their halls are quiet, candle-lit sanctuaries suspended over pools of still water â a place where students learn meditation before mana. While mocked by younger casters as monks and mystics, their insight has ended more wars than any spell.
Philosophy & Culture:
Patience and restraint are their cardinal virtues. A Lunarre learns to see the flow of mana as reflection and mirror, mastering empathy before offense. They handle internal arbitration and funerary rites for the academy, tending to both the living and the lost. Their initiation rite, LâImmersion, requires a night spent underwater in silence, confronting oneâs own mana-ghost.
Reputation & Leadership:
Their leader, Ser Alarin de Lune, is a calm but terrifyingly powerful Ambient caster â the academyâs unofficial conscience. He teaches Mana Reflection and Soul-Balance, disciplines that blend therapy and combat. The King trusts him⊠but never fully, for even still waters hide depth.
Quote:
âIn silence, every lie drowns â and only truth breathes.â
