Age: 9
Origin: Lodging Town, Sylvara (rural woodland-industrial town)
Classification: Emergent Metal-Line Archivist
Mana Line: Metal
Conduit: The Sunspike Rod — a single bonded metal conduit (short staff focus, factory-forged blank later awakened by arcane smiths)
The Sunspike Rod is a plain, unadorned steel focus disguised as an industrial calibration rod used in factory testing. It contains a dormant harmonic lattice keyed to Metal mana. To mortalkin, it is mundane equipment. To Ossirian smiths, it is an unawakened conduit core awaiting bonding.
Michelangelo is one of those children who look built before their bones finish growing.
At nine, he is:
• tall for his age
• broad-shouldered
• thick-limbed
• visibly strong in a way adults comment on
Yet his face is still soft. Round cheeks. Bright eyes. A grin that disarms people before they register his size.
This contrast is why the town calls him @Baby .
He is treated like the mascot of @Moses Lake — everyone knows him, everyone waves to him, and everyone assumes he’ll grow into “something impressive someday.”
They are right. They just don’t know how literal that is.
Michelangelo’s family is stable, respected, and locally rooted.
• Father @Declan Deker : Senior technician at Sunland Weapons Factory
• Mother: @Maeve Deker Logging foreman and part-owner in a regional timber operation
They are high middle class by rural standards. They own land. They know people in town leadership. They keep their heads down and their business clean.
When Michelangelo first lifted a wrench across the garage floor without touching it, his parents did not panic.
They hid it.
Not because they understood magic — but because they understood attention.
In Moses Lake, attention is a threat.
They quietly taught him rules:
• never do it in public
• never show friends
• never joke about it
• never move metal around people
His control developed in silence.
Michelangelo’s natural Metal-line boon is localized telekinetic manipulation of small metal objects.
Current capacity:
• 1–5 lb: effortless, reflexive
• 5–25 lb: causes physical strain comparable to sprinting hard for several minutes
• fine manipulation: limited but improving (turning keys, nudging screws, drawing small tools closer)
He does not “cast.”
He tugs reality.
He learned to do this playing alone in sheds, moving nails into neat rows, lifting scrap bolts to hand level, nudging dropped tools back into reach.
He associates this with tidying, not power.
That framing matters.
Michelangelo is not a Natural caster.
He is a Metal Archivist who will require a conduit to shape real spells.
His future conduit, the @Sunspike Rod :
• will not give him strength
• will give him control
• will allow shaping, reinforcement, locking, cutting, binding
His natural boon is weak, local, and invisible.
The conduit will let him:
• alter metal structure
• bind moving components
• harden or soften alloys
• shape edges and joints
Right now, he is like a person who can feel magnetism.
Later, he becomes a person who can edit machinery.
Michelangelo is gentle.
He is:
• affectionate with his parents
• loyal to friends
• emotionally expressive
• excited by stories of knights, old wars, and swordsmanship
• fascinated by how people built things before machines were perfect
He loves history because it feels human-scale.
He loves swords because they’re honest tools.
He loves LARPing because it lets him be heroic without hurting anyone.
This makes him emotionally incompatible with militarized metal doctrine later in life.
Which is going to matter.
Michelangelo is obsessed with old Commonwealth history.
He reads:
• pre-industrial warfare accounts
• sword manuals
• battlefield memoirs
• early blacksmithing and armor forging histories
Not because he wants to fight.
Because he wants to understand how people solved problems with their hands.
This makes him dangerous in the future — because he doesn’t design weapons like factories do. He designs them like humans used to.
He has three rare markers:
• Early Metal-line manifestation
• High physical capacity for conduit strain
• Emotional stability under power secrecy
He is being recruited not for raw power — but for durability.
He will be able to channel heavy metal shaping without self-damage at a young age.
That makes him infrastructure-grade talent.
Michelangelo is not a warrior child.
He is a big, kind boy who moves metal without thinking, loves swords because they’re beautiful, and believes history is made by people who fix things with their hands.
The tragedy and tension of his arc is simple:
The world will want to turn his strength into a weapon.
He will want to turn it into something that holds.
Irish-featured Sylvaran boy with pale skin that tans easily in the forest sun, thick brown hair kept short and messy, broad shoulders, heavy limbs, and a face too soft for the body he’s growing into. His hands are large for his age, always nicked from woodwork and tool use. He wears work boots everywhere and smells faintly of pine and machine oil.
He cracks his knuckles before concentrating.
He aligns dropped metal unconsciously when nervous.
He smiles first, thinks later.
Reaper controls chaos.
Michelangelo stabilizes structure.
The third prodigy should disrupt systems in a way neither of them can.
