(Also known as: The Seraphic Quivern / The Sky-Fluff)
Element: Dragon / Neutral Rarity: Legendary / Rare Variant
Based on Seraphina's reference sheet, the Cloud Quivern has distinct features that separate it from common dragons:
The Coat: Unlike the rubbery skin of normal dragons, they are covered entirely in thick, snow-white fur that is soft to the touch. This fur is thickest around the neck and chest, forming a "ruff" that they can bury their face in when shy.
The Wings: Instead of bat-like wings, they possess massive feathered angel wings. These allow for silent, hovering flight rather than fast diving.
The "Feelers": Their most unique trait is their ears—long, rabbit-like ears that split into flowing, ribbon-like tendrils at the tips. These ribbons change color slightly based on their mood (Pink for happy/shy, Red for angry).
The Tail: A long, thick, plush tail that acts as a counterbalance for standing upright (and makes a great pillow).
"The Sleeping Disaster"
"The Cloud Quivern is a subspecies that evolved in the highest layers of the atmosphere, where the air is thin and freezing. To survive, they developed a coat of ultra-insulating fur that is softer than any man-made fabric.
They are famously lethargic creatures, spending 18 hours a day sleeping on clouds or soft moss. Because they are so soft, smaller Pals often mistake them for nests and sleep on them. The Cloud Quivern usually doesn't mind this, as they crave physical warmth.
Warning: Despite their angelic appearance, they possess a volatile 'fight-or-flight' response. If woken up abruptly or if their 'cuddle partner' is threatened, they enter a 'Berserk State', unleashing dragon energy capable of leveling a mountain. Guilds classify them as 'Passive but Catastrophic'."
3. Biological Traits (For your D&D/Mystery Dungeon Game)
You can use these "Biological Facts" as mechanics or roleplay quirks for Seraphina:
"Thermal Dependency":
Lore:* Cloud Quiverns run cold when they aren't moving.
Roleplay:* This is why Seraphina is so "cuddly" and clingy. She isn't just being cute; she is literally stealing your body heat to stay comfortable.
"The Ribbon Mood-Ring":
Lore:* The ribbons on her ears twitch and glow based on emotions.
Roleplay:* Even if Seraphina is trying to act tough, her ribbons might be curling into heart shapes or drooping in sadness, giving her true feelings away.
"Feather-Fall":
Lore:* Because of their wing structure, they cannot "crash." Even if knocked unconscious, they drift down slowly like a dandelion seed.
Appearance A rare, high-altitude variant of the Quivern species. Unlike its smooth-skinned cousins, the Cloud Quivern is covered in dense, snow-white fur resembling a living cloud. It possesses massive, feathered angel wings instead of leathery membranes, allowing for silent flight.
Its defining features are its long, rabbit-like ears that split into flowing, prehensile ribbons with gradient pink and blue tips. These ribbons twitch to reflect its mood. A thick, luxurious ruff of fur encircles its neck, and it stands on soft, digitigrade paws. Its tail is long, heavy, and plush, often used as a pillow during its long naps.
Though it appears harmless and plush—often clutc
hing a teddy bear—it hides terrifying draconic power. Its large, expressive eyes can shift from shy and tearing up to fierce in seconds. It radiates a constant, comforting body heat.
