Title: The Jealous Shadow Type: Dark / Dragon (Because of the obsession and power) Gender Ratio: 100% Male Personality: Obsessive / Unhinged
At first glance, he looks majestic. A tall, bipedal dragon-wolf with soft, pastel-pink and white fur, massive feathered angel wings, and a slender, feminine waist. He moves with an elegant, almost dancing gait.
But if you look closely, his eyes never blink. His pupils are dilated pinpricks. And his claws... they are always perfectly clean, despite the rumors of what he does at night.
"A tall, bipedal creature that stands with an unnerving, elegant grace. He is covered in thick, pillowy fur—mostly pristine white with soft, 'Pacific Pink' gradients on his paws, ears, and tail tip.
He possesses a pair of massive, feathered angel wings that are slightly too big for his body, often dragging on the floor like a bridal train. His face is a mix of wolf and cat, with large, unblinking golden eyes that seem to glow in the dark.
Despite being a powerful male dragon, his body has a distinct, curvy 'hourglass' shape, tricking prey into lowering their guard. He is almost always seen clutching a random object (a scarf, a bag, or a pair of stolen trousers) tightly to his chest."
Paldeck Entry (Lore):
"The 'Stalker' Pal. Legend says Serapholk was created from the overwhelming jealousy of a forgotten god. There are no female Serapholks; instead, they wander the world looking for a 'Perfect Mate' from other species.
Once they choose a target, they do not attack. They watch. They follow. They collect 'souvenirs'—usually clothing or personal items—stolen while the victim sleeps. Travelers who wake up missing their pants are advised to run immediately and never look back, for a Serapholk is close, and he has already claimed you."
"Legends say the Serapholk is a mistake of nature—a species with no females, cursed with an emptiness they can never fill.
Instead of finding a mate, a Serapholk chooses a 'Target' (usually a powerful or charismatic explorer). He doesn't want to fight them; he wants to own them.
It starts small. You wake up, and your favorite scarf is missing. Then your boots. Then... you notice that the shopkeeper you talked to yesterday has vanished. The Serapholk believes that by isolating you, he is 'protecting' you. If he can't have you, no one can."
#115 Serapholk (Male Only) The Stalking Pal
"A specialized subspecies that lacks females entirely. Driven by a desperate, corrupted instinct to find a mate, a Serapholk will imprint on a single living creature and dedicate its entire existence to them.
They are masters of stealth, capable of walking silently and remaining perfectly still for days. Legends say that if a Serapholk gives you a gift (usually stolen from someone else), you must accept it, or he will burn your house down out of heartbreak.
Known Behavior: They are extremely possessive. If their 'Target' speaks to others, the Serapholk will hiss from the shadows. If their Target sleeps, the Serapholk will stand over them to 'guard' their dreams."
The Setup: The party is camping in the woods. Kovo wakes up feeling cold.
The Event: Kovo realizes his blanket is gone. And his bag. And his shoes. He looks up, and sitting on a tree branch directly above him is Serapholk.
The Serapholk is wearing Kovo's blanket like a cape and holding Kovo's shoes close to his face, sniffing them happily.
Serapholk: (Whispering) "You looked cold... so I'm keeping your warmth safe for you..."
Action: What do Kovo and Sarah do?
Since this is a Friends & Fables D&D game, you can run a Horror Arc where a Serapholk starts stalking Kovo.
1. The "Missing Items" Table Every time the party takes a Long Rest, roll a d20. If it's a 1-5, something of Kovo's disappears.
Item: His belt, a lock of fur, his dagger, or—as you mentioned—his pants.
Clue: The players find a single pink feather left on Kovo’s bedroll.
2. The "Elimination" Mechanic If Kovo or Sarah makes friends with an NPC (like a shopkeeper or another explorer), that NPC goes missing the next day.
The Twist: The players eventually find a "Shrine" in the woods built by the Serapholk. It is made entirely of Kovo’s stolen items and pictures of him sleeping.
3. Combat Behavior: "Jealous Rage" If the party fights him, the Serapholk will not attack Kovo.
Targeting: He only attacks Sarah or other allies.
Dialogue: "Get away from him! He's MINE! You're tainting him!"
Ability: "Love Cage" – He casts a barrier around himself and Kovo, locking everyone else out so he can be "alone" with his obsession.
Dungeon Name: The Gilded Garden (Also known as: The Cage of Affection)
Visual Description (The Vibe):
"At first, this dungeon looks like paradise. The trees are pink cherry blossoms that never stop falling, and the ground is soft, white moss. The air smells like expensive perfume and sugar.
But the longer you walk, the creepier it gets. There is no sound—no wind, no bird calls. The 'statues' in the garden look suspiciously like petrified explorers who tried to run away. The pink mist gets thicker the deeper you go, and you constantly feel a hot breath on the back of your neck, but when you turn around... nothing is there."
Dungeon Hazards (Mechanics):
"The Pheromone Fog":
Every 10 minutes (or every few turns), players must make a Wisdom Save.
Fail: The player becomes Charmed. They don't want to leave the dungeon anymore. They start walking towards the Boss Room willingly, believing they are going to a "safe place."
"The Missing Step":
Traps in this dungeon don't deal damage. Instead, they are Snare Traps made of silk and ribbons. If you step on one, you are Restrained (tied up) until an ally cuts you loose.
The Boss Room:
A giant nest made entirely of stolen sleeping bags, clothes, and armor from previous adventurers. Serapholk sits on top of this hoard like a dragon on gold.
