Graywake Harbor

Human Settlement

Graywake Harbor

Overview

Graywake Harbor is the youngest settlement — and the most dangerous.

Built along the Emerald Ocean coast, it is home to those born on the Isles who belong nowhere else.

No crowns.
No bloodlines.
No destiny.

Just survival.

Structure & Layout

  • Stone piers reinforced with driftwood and iron

  • Multi-level docks for tide changes

  • Wind-leaning buildings braced against storms

The harbor smells of salt, oil, and smoke.

Population

Humans here are:

  • Descendants of shipwrecks

  • Children of traders who stayed

  • Bastards of pirates and refugees

They call themselves Isleborn.

Culture

  • Pragmatic

  • Suspicious

  • Fiercely independent

They celebrate storms survived, not holidays.

No one rules Graywake.

A council forms when needed — and dissolves after.

Economy

  • Ship repair

  • Fishing

  • Trade brokerage between elves and dwarves

  • Salvage from the Emerald Ocean

They make money by knowing who not to offend.

Defense

  • Ballistae disguised as cranes

  • Harbor chains beneath the water

  • Fast boats for evacuation or pursuit

Graywake does not fight wars.

It outlasts them.

Relationship to Others

  • Dark Elves: Trade partners

  • Dwarves: Clients and suppliers

  • Arnothi Pirates: Inevitable threat

Some pirates never leave the harbor.
